To the average citizen the Alhambra Water Tower is nothing special. But for Architects this was a great feat! This is one of the few water towers and the only one in Miami that isn't designed as a huge balloon on a stick with a tacky, 'city name' banner across. The water tower is beautiful, my boyfriend and I walk past it every night during our nightly walks and absolutely love looking at it! For the Engineers, well you should know that trying to fit the criteria for a water tower into your average Hispanic-Obelisk-Castle-Tower-Looking-Thing is VERY hard. So I truly believe you will enjoy taking a look.
This is a beautiful example of the Merrick magic of the building of Coral Gables
Interesting water tower from the old Gables. If you are driving around pass by and see it. It has been recently restored.
Great to look at. Nothing more to it. Is not so much a destination as a stop on an architecture tour of the gables.
If you are in Coral Gables, I recommend a stop at the water tower. It only takes a few minutes to look at (you can not go inside), but it is part of the history of a very interesting city.
This is not an attraction, it's just a very pretty water tower. It's something you drive by, not visit.
Si estas de turismo en Miami no dejes de visitar Coral Gables un lugar maravilloso.
If you are in the area, be sure to walk or ride your bike by the historic water tower. There is a bike path along this street that is very enjoyable to ride along and see not just the water tower, but the banyan trees as well.
If you are driving in the Coral Gables area try to make a pass by the original water tower on Alhambra Circle. Pull over in the grass and take 5 minutes to walk around it and read the Historical Markers.
lets keep it! it is an icon, and it gives identity to the city
