This market is really nice. If any one want to visit this market he should taste all the fruits of brazil market . Its really nice. one more thing, don't buy any stuff like t shirts from here. Rio de Jenerio is best place to buy all stuff of same quality.
Nice place to see the variety of fruits there is in the country and you get a free taste if you want. If you decide to buy something, specially fruits, prices are high. Worth going for the atmosphere.
It is a interesting place to go, the architeture is very pretty and you can find a large variety of fruits. It is always full, so go with patience. It is better to go by metro if you can, as the place does not have to much park structure. You should taste the mortadela sandwich !
A friend who lives in the city took me here while I was visiting. Great place to watch life happen as locals and tourists mix to do their grocery/edible souvenir shopping. Tons of fresh and packaged goods available- meats, fruits, spices, spirits and sundries from various states of Brazil are sold by the vendors downstairs at fair, local, clearly marked prices. Upstairs has options for dining. At lunch time you can clearly see the most popular choices by the long lines to be seated. The building is unique with stained glass windows letting light in from the peaks of the building sides, and the walk here through the neighborhood is interesting in itself.
Fabulous. A must go place to visit, eat, taste and buy fruit, fish, cheese and much more. But there's no bargain. Quite expensive but amazing quality.
Fun to look around at all of the different foods and condiments. Interesting to earn about a number of fruits including some you had never heard of before. There are a number of eateries located on the balcony level where you can sit down and eat. What you have to taste is the code pastry (pastel de bacalhau) and the famous Mortadella sandwich.
This market is a must in Sao Paulo! From de the archtecture thru the fuit stalls and restaurants every thing is nice! The fruits are fantastic, although rather expensive.
A mixing of aromas, colors, and tastes. It is a trip to paradise of senses!!! The location is not the best, however you will not regret visiting this amazing market.
This market was designed by Ramos de Azevedo one of the leading architects of 1900's in Brasil.Other works includes: Municipal Theater, Post Office Building, Palacio das Industrias, Palacio da Justiça etc.Besides being a architectural landmark, is a colorful and vibrating food market with a mix of colors and tastes that will seduce you.
If you are the type that likes going to market places, you wont regret visiting the Mercado Muncipal de Sao Paolo. The old building is beautifly renovated. Lively place, filled with colors, tropical fruits, exotic dishes. Be careful as it is not in the best part of town, but an adventure to enjoy while in Sao Paolo.
