My husband and I enjoyed the Museum of Fine art because of the diversity of the exhibits. There is also a lovely outdoor sculpture garden too! The museum was just the right size for us, not huge and overwhelming. An added bonus for us (being from Oklahoma) is that it's close to the Waterfront. If you want to save money on admission go on Thursday after 5 or look for coupons in the Florida guides.
Go visit this lovely museum anytime. But for me save it for when include the flower show.. Floral designers and Garden club members select art works and sculptures an design floral pieces that interpret the art. Great day.
The Fine Arts Museum is truly a first class facility with continuously changing visiting exhibits for all tastes. Special events and free days make it very user friendly.
This beautiful museum in the heart of St Petersburg is a "Must See" whenever we're in town. The journey walking through the exhibits (some permanent, and some new) is worthwhile. We were lucky, the entrance fee was at a discount on the night that we went.
I liked how the floral designers were next to their work explaining their Art In Bloom. Special exhibit was very nice too.
This charming museum, in waterfront downtown St Pete, is a gem. It has a little of everything in the permanent collection as well as a new wing that has changing exhibitions that are very interesting. If you visit, spend some time in the courtyards, which are very charming. For lunch you have lots of good choices just across the street along Beach Drive, including my favorite lunch spot, Moon Under Water, which has great fish and chips and curries and burgers in an English Pub atmosphere.
Interview hours here doing all of the beautiful card from all of the world with my aunt and uncle that were visiting from the cold weather up north New York. It was a delightful afternoon. Don't miss this find collection when visiting St. Petersburg
The museum has a mixed permanent collection that includes a wide range of styles and eras, housed in a beautiful building. We went to see a traveling exhibition on the impressionists, which was interesting and well curated. Worth a look for art lovers visiting the area. We visited the museum on a Thursday, when they have extended evening hours, arriving a little after 4:30. The staff person at the desk was nice enough to tell us that if we waited until 5 to enter, the price is reduced to $5 rather than the regular admission of $17. We had time to spare so we took a short walk and then returned.
A fine museum, the docent a must, the 3-4 original Monets were favorites but there are a lot of other great pieces of art and fine art. The downtown St Pete area, Park and Marina and Restaurants surrounding the museum, make this visit well worth your time and effort.
The traveling exhibit and permanent collection are top notch.Architecture of the building is worth a visit by itself. Small restaurant on site. Gift shop needs knowledgeable staff.
