We have a great time and discover amazing places. All was offered by the great guide and driver Enrique. He was polite and helpful all time. He just make sure that you enjoy and you have a great time discovering his county. Definitely it deserve to do it.
I wholeheartedly agree with the positive comments of the other reviewers. Our guide, Martin, was both knowledgable and friendly. The time flew by as we explored both famous and lesser known sights in the Finisterre area. It was a special treat to end the trip with mountaintop views of Santiago.
Can't speak more highly of this young man- impeccably professional in dress and manner, he took us to Santiago de Compostale from Vigo, Spain (where our cruise ship docked) and took us to all the places we were interested in seeing, providing a commentary on this area of Spain- his love of Galicia is obvious. The best part of the day was the lovely restaurant where we stopped to eat on the way back to Vigo. An old mill that has been turned into a taverna- so picturesque! The owner made his own wine and kept our glasses full; we had octopus (Martin explained the method of preparation which makes it tender and delicious- kind of cross in flavor between lobster and crab), beef and pork, all served family style. The meal concluded with wonderful espresso and a local liqueur- we thought it was water because it was served in a water bottle and is crystal clear. We all had a laugh when Martin asked how we enjoyed the homemade liqueur and we told him we never even tried it! You will not regret your decision to tour with DiscoverGalicia!
There were four adults in our group and we enjoyed a marvelous full day tour of Vigo, the surrounding area and Santiago de Compostela. Our guide, Martin, was personable, professional, sincerely knowledgeable and spoke great English. His choice for lunch was the BEST and, when we requested a visit to a store to purchase local wine, he chose a charming stop. Should we return to this area, we will absolutely seek out Martin again.
This was the best tour I have ever been on. After walking the Camino to Santiago we were looking for a tour to see Finisterre. The hotel highly recommended DiscoverGalicia because it was a small group. I had no interest in travelling in a big tour bus. This was absolutely amazing. The tour guide explained the history, culture, cuisuine and so much more. I highly recommend them. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you very much for your company and conversation. This is an easy job when we find costumers like you.
My two friends and I went with Martin and 5 others to Finisterre and the Costa de Morte. We had a wonderful day, Martin was an excellent informative guide. Lunch was delicious and plentiful. We could have used a coffee and bathroom break however. The website does not have an English translation, don't be put off by this, just email Martin in English.
The experience here was marred by officious and small minded people. Very disappointed and we left very soon after entry due this.
Thanks for your review. It was fantastic enjoying this small piece of paradise with nice company.Hope to see you soon again!
I have taken many guided tours before. My experience with them has been from bad to mediocre. I specially dislike those that make a stop in a shop where the tour guide gets a cut of the sales. But the tour with DiscoverGalicia by your Way was totally different. Martin picked us up from the hotel at the time we asked him to. Immediately he was very courteous and started introducing the group (only four of us) to what the itinerary consisted and what to expect. We had chosen Fisterra and Costa da Morte. It was reassuring to know that our guide was always keeping an eye on us, even when we were several hundred feet away near the furious waves of the Galician coast and he was standing guard, making sure we had the freedom to wander away but under his vigilant eye. Lunch was included in the price of the tour and it took place in a delightful "Parador". The hostess had prepared a delicious home-made meal that was the delight of all of us. We had plenty of time to eat. We never felt neither rush during the sightseeing nor was ever a time we were told how much time we had left. Martin was available for questions during the entire tour and always seemed to have an answer for everything. He is very knowledgeable of the area and its history. I would definitely recommend DiscoverGalicia by your Way to anyone that is interest in a detail insight of Galicia. Martin is proficient in English, Spanish and Gallego, and it will be the highlight of your Galician visit.
