Went with my high school son for a visit and unlike many college visits, was not treated as a number. Considered "mid-size" but has a feel of a bigger University. Beautiful grounds throughout including the missionary in middle of campus. Had student guide us and very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed it (now one my son's top 3 schools).
Very pretty campus and the Mission and art gallery are worth a visit. Student mass is at 9 pm in the Mission on Sunday nights.
What a BEAUTIFUL campus! The grounds are GORGEOUS, and very well-manicured and maintained! The mission is beautiful. The University has grown quite a bit since I last visited - and it is FABULOUS! They did an incredible job of expanding whilst maintaining the historical beauty of the campus. WOW!
Our daughter attended a 3 day volleyball camp. Us being interested parents went and observed during 3 of the training sessions. Very good overall instructional program in place. Living quarters for our daughter was a dorm room which was clean and adequate for the cause. Coaches and assistants were outstanding!!! Would recommend this camp to others that's for sure.
very nice place to visit, pacefull on week ends, and very nice church inside. very good garden maintenance, i loved it.
Our son is a student here, and we have loved visiting him here for the past 4 years. The campus grounds are meticulously maintained, with beautiful lawns, a rose garden, and of course, the Mission Church, which a gorgeous example of early California mission architecture. It's a great place for a walk, peaceful & quiet most of the time. Great access to public transportation, as it is across the street from a CalTrain station, and a 5-minute shuttle ride from the San Jose airport. Love this campus!
Beautiful campus. Police Department and Train Station located right across the street. Loved the Mission!!
Nice and small campus with the California Mission in the middle. It is also close to a lot of restaurants and other places to hang out. Santana Row in San Jose is not too far away either.
I have visited this university on a number of occasions and met several people on campus. All of them are very nice and friendly. The center piece of the university is the mission, which is still very active. The buildings have this historic charm about them - albeit, some do not have air conditioning, We know people who have attended the university and a couple of them liked it so much that they stayed on to do graduate work there. They also have an active athletic program and the public can often buy tickets to their events. There are also other university events that the public can attend (note: a good place to look is the campus calendar on the web site.) There is also a good museum that is open to the public during the academic year - it is called the de Saisset Museum and is both an art and history museum. It is very good, but check the hours.
I now have a quest . . . to visit all the missions in California. The Santa Clara Mission stands surrounded by beautiful flower gardens and pathways. Everywhere you walk, there is a sense of peace, history and comfort. What a great idea to have it on a lovely campus with such lovely young people around.
