It was a treat to visit this gallery filled with various art forms. Quiet and no pressure. Just a chance to view the local artists. great and easy parking too!
On the "other" side of the river, check out the latest art show. There is always something interesting and worthwhile.
Mystic arts center is a great local asset. Well-curated shows and great classes for kids and adults. Well done social events and fund raisers.
The shops here had a very nice town-like atmosphere. Very cute shops that had a little something for everyone. For the very first time my husband purchased some items and I didnt, so that should say something!
Mystic CT doesn't have that much to do - if you have a quiet moment you'd do well to stop in here. The art is "real" meaning it isn't a lot of big name junk. Much of it is beautiful and harmonious. The executive director has a mustache like Salvador Dali, and in my opinion he merits it. He literally digs into thousands of pieces to find the best, and several promising artists and younger (or newer, I should say) artists are on display there. The setting is serene and contemplative, and even if you have only 15 minutes you can find some art that will bring joy to your day.
Wonderful regional juried art shows and home of the Mystic Arts Cafe on about 4 Fridays per year with poetry and music of National reknown. the Mystic Art Association is a regional focal point
We were actually there for a wedding reception but we really enjoyed the displays of art. It is a smaller venue but the art and photography was high caliber. I am not sure if there is an admission fee but it is a nice center.
Last weekend we were in Mystic and took a walk through the Art Center and thought it to be a very nice gallery. The exhibit had a large variety of works which made it interesting, definately work checking out !
We visited this place. They have paintings, photographs etc displayed. Some of them are for sale. Many of these display are by the local artist displaying local scenes. We enjoyed it very much
We were wandering through Mystic when we came upon the Arts Center and decided to see what was inside. We didn't know what to expect, as there was a kids' art class being held on the lawn, but inside was a small art museum that had a donation box instead of an entrance fee. We wandered about for quite a while studying the impressive, if not huge, array of art. This is a 100-year old artist's colony, and one can really get the feel of how the town grew up around it. An excellent visit and a nice break from our hectic day.
