Maple Creek Golf Club was formerly named Winding Brook Golf Club. This is an 18-hole par-72 course measuring 6863-yards from the tips. It has 4 sets of tees. The course was in excellent condition when I played it. It is next to Rt. 127 and can be seen from hightway. Exit at Shepherd exit. Course is 2 minutes away.

This Shepherd Michigan golf course is a low level farmers course with green fees that rival mid level courses. The back nine is nearly unplayable until June due to the Little Salt River overrun. The fairways during July/August are rock hard and brown. The tee boxes are a joke. The best part of this course is the putting green. Save your money...park your truck, pull out your putter and two balls and spend an hour on the putting green. They haven't started charging for this yet.

On July 13, 2014 we golfed at the Maple Creek Golf course. The clubhouse and Grill are very impressive. But I would rate the golf course as a cow pasture with confusing holes. If we did not have previous golfer on this course we would have not found our way around the golf course. I would not golf here again and I can not recommend this golf course to my family and friends. There is just better choices out there. Pure Michigan just has better golf courses.

We showed up 18 minutes late for our tee time. That was because we missed our exit and the next exit was 6 miles away. When we final arrived, we explain what had happened and even had GPS data to prove. The general managers said "sorry you are too late for your tee time and you will need to pay more for the difference in price". Just to let you know there was not a single person before or after us that's would have stopped us for getting a little bit later. We didn't want to pay the difference and the general managers was no help at all. He was actually the most disrespectful person I have EVER talked to me. I suggest NOT going to this course and going to one of the several nicer courses in the area.
