I heard about thks place and made it a MUST DO on my list. We got the opportunity last year 2014 and it was amazing.Staying in a b&b up the road, we got the local bus to the entrance of the park. There are two sections and as it is a lot of wa,king, climbing steps, going up and down hills we decided to do it in two days so bought a cheaper two day pass.On arrival you get a little bus to the top of the falls where there ks a cafe. Then the trek begins. Take good walking shles as it can be sl ppery and uneven under foot. From this moment on, you will be amazed at every turn.Definite.y worth a visit and you will honestly never see so much beauty in one place.something the Crostians must be very proud of.
Definitely a one of a kind place and something to be admired by nature lovers and photographers alike.
We were staying in Zagreb and rented a car and headed here for the day. It was definitely worth it. From lovely waterfalls to the colour of the water, this places oozes of beauty. It was teaming rain when we were here unfortunately but that didn't spoil it. It will quite a long walk and we both got soaked. Waterproof ponchos were available for purchase before we headed out on the trail but we took our chances, so I would recommend buying one if it gives rain. This place is truly fantastic and somewhere you should definitely make an effort to go and see in your lifetime!
if u wanna see heaven on earth this is the place. just 2 hrs bus ride from zadar and u r right ther. make sure u stay here for a night or two so that u can have d feel of this awesome place. guesthouse sven is a good option as its just 5 to 10 minutes walk from plitvice lake. try wearing good sport shoes as therz lot of walking and lot of stairs as u have to go down and climb up so u have to be fit too. but its an awesome experience which u will cherish thru out ur life.
A fairy-tale place, very beautiful nature, clear lakes and waterfalls with turquoise water. I recommend to visit Plitvice Lakes!
A one of a kind place with lovely views. Lot of picturesque spots around the trail. Trails are of multiple duration, take longer ones only if you are into long walks. If you just want to have a quick trip and capture key views (including ones often used in marketing brochure), follow the trail in opposite direction of what is given on sign-boards.
+ The Plitvice Lakes are amazingly beautiful! A visit is great value for money! (We payed about 14 euro per person = student prices in August)- The domain is huge, but the wooden paths over and along the lakes are small and crowded during high season (for instance in August).+ There are also paths through the woods (much cooler and less crowded).+/- You need to be quite fit if you want to wander around and see many different places.+ Luckily, you can also take the shuttle bus or a boat.- You are not allowed to swim in the lakes.
beautiful nature you can walk through, very relaxing. beautiful lakes with clerar water, on witch you can take a boat trip all around the national park
We travelled in October which was the perfect time to visit avoiding mass crowds which apparently challenge & somewhat spoil the summer months. Not all trails were open due to some flooding & the National Park layout takes some sussing out & some walking over 2 days if you want to catch all of it's beauty & various levels - I recommend.Yes..it's a beautiful meandering forest trail with great log walkways winding across the falls at all levels, totally weather dependant... all or any of it can get wet, muddy, slippery - it's a shame that not all visitors appreciate this when they choose to visit in attitude or with their unsuitable clothing/footwear! Such as it's very nature I actually think the place is well managed (apart from making it very clear of the last ferry times - beware to check or face a long walk back!). It's unspoilt & very clean despite the throngs of nationalities & visitors it receives at any one time with pit stop cafe's at appropriate places & trails to get away from the crowds, the pathways are fab & exhilarating when the water is high & gushing all around : )You can enter the park for free at gate 3 high on the other bank, but if you want to use the park shuttle & limited lake ferries to help get around all areas you have to pay for a ticket at the kiosk which includes these.
Having ticked of 26 countries now, I can honestly say this is one of the most stunning places I have ever been to!This is a MUST SEE!!The water is insane it is so clear and the color is beyond amazing!
