This is a large antique mall. Easy to get lost in. Go when you can spend a large amount of time walking around. There is employees able to help and show items in cases. Parking is plentiful. Great for a rainy day. Tons of glass items.
Bigger doesn't always mean better, but in this case, it's hard to go through the 160,000 square foot building without something that you're going to want to take home. Like many Antique malls these days there are some booths that aren't quite "Antique", but the vast majority are here, some really stellar booths, I typically go about 3 times a year and I find stock turns over with regularity. One of the best features of this mall is that for items over $100 you can place an offer - I find this to be an excellent service. It benefits both the customer and the dealer. I've used the offer server on a number of occassions and it has been beneifical each time. I typically go through the mall at a rather quick pace looking for items that will pop out.....it takes me about 2 hours to do it that way.....I expect a leisurely pace will take double that.....that said where else are going going to find the equivelant of 5 to 10 Antique Malls in one spot. A must vist!
This is the best antique store in Ohio. Honesly every time we go here we spend lots of money on good stuff. Mostly glassware and wind up toys is what we buy! LOVE THE PLACE!
We always stop after a long trip to stretch and walk thru the store. There is so many items and ideas to see and purchase.
Maybe I'm spoiled by the little mom and pop shops I frequent in Indiana but I think the items in this mall were overpriced. There is a lot to see and the mall itself is very well maintained and great fun to look through but I found no great bargains or anything that I had to have that I felt I couldn't pass up. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Heart of Ohio is not far from where I grew up. When I come home to visit, I always like to stop and see what I "may need". I feel a sense of calm and relaxation just wandering the aisles looking at antiques. I never go in with the intent of buying as I need nothing BUT I always find something I can't live without. On my last trip I found an aluminum Christmas tree just like my Grandma's. The tree was well priced and I could see the condition. I was not ordering blind off the web. I also found a wonderful salesman sample of a dining table. (Now I need to find two little chairs.) The café serves very tasty lunch type items and the restrooms are clean and well maintained. The staff is helpful and friendly. Karen was a big help in getting someone to pack up the Christmas tree for me as I continued to shop. Thank you Heart of Ohio for another wonderful six plus hour day of shopping and browsing with friends. I highly recommend anyone (that has a love for antiques) stop at the Heart.
My wife and I are antique mall dealers, and we wanted to see the largest antique mall in America which is this one. We decided to make a weekend of it. This mall has 114,000 square feet. There are hundreds of cases and booths. They specialize in high quality antiques, so there is little of the crafts/flea market items you find in some antique malls. This mall has an exceptional staff, both in quality and quantity. In each aisle is a person waiting to open a case for you, or to take your selections to a holding bin while you keep shopping. This mall opens cases faster than any other mall we have ever been to. They also have a great restaurant inside. We had a grilled ham and cheese that was excellent. The bathrooms are large and clean too. It took us about 9 hours to go through the entire mall, looking for only the stuff we like which is pretty specialized. Someone interested in general antiques might need a week or more to go through everything. This mall is worth a visit from anyone who likes antiques or shopping in general.
My husband and I are antiques dealers from PA and we frequent MANY antiques malls. While this is certainly the largest mall, and there is great potential here to find a bargain, it is by no means the BEST antiques mall in the US. I do appreciate the fact that they do jury the booths and collectibles are held to a minimum. It IS however, at the top of the list of malls in the Springfield area.
This place is very large, and to really check out all the many items that are offered, will take up to 5 hours to do. A very wide and broad range of items, some really great things, the mall is clean, they are staffed very well, never a long wait to get into a showcase, and the staff is very friendly, bathrooms are large and clean. The only reason I didnt give it a "5" is the prices are old school prices and are very high, some of the merchandise has been there so long that the prices are faded and can't be read, but there are still items that are reasonable, and we made a few purchases, but basically everyone you walked by was saying how high the prices are.
This place is HUGE. We spend about 3 hours and found about dozen items between us and a fair amount for what we got. Was a little confusing on how to navigate it , the gentlemen at the gate was helpful. Told us start right and keep a wall to the right follow it around to the beginning. The staff there was wonderful and most helpful
