We are disappointed that the customer did not enjoy her experience. Nonetheless, some points in the review deserve correction:1. The website does NOT state that small coolers are allowed. It states "Outside food and beverages are not permitted," followed by the phrase, "Infant formula or dietary food items are allowed." A large sign at admissions plainly states, "No Coolers".2. We direct admission cashiers inform patrons of the prohibition on coolers. In this case, when the patron stated that the lunch box contained dietary needs, the cashiers asked for help from the manager on duty who verified the contents of the box and gave the ok without incident or argument.3. We prohibit lifeguards from conversing with patrons.4. Lifeguards converse with each other when they change stations, the only time when guards are close enough to each other to have a conversation.5. The water park does NOT close because of rain. The patron failed to state that the facility's lightning detection system had blared a loud, unmistakable warning of a real and imminent threat of lightning in the area. Moreover, immediately after that warning, the park manager announced that all patrons needed to find shelter outside the park until the threat passed. Park staff are instructed to be firm and insistent that patrons leave the park and that they may claim any rain check to which they are entitled if the park does not re-open within an hour. I personally know the staff member referenced in the review, and without having witnessed the situation, I will state utmost confidence that the staff member did not yell.
This is a terrific venue to take young children. We took our two grandchildren for opening day at Sailfish Water Park. They were visiting for the March break and we tried to have adventure every day. This is definitely one of their favorites and ours in a week full of adventures. The facility is extremely well-maintained and the staff, although very young are very professional. We were very impressed by Craig Anderson marketing manager of the facility, who took time on a very busy day to give us a tour of the property . There is a wonderful splash and climbing center with small water slides for very young children. For older children and adults there are two exciting water slides. The lazy river was great fun with a good current and a lengthy ride. In the competitive swimming area there are diving boards and an exceptional lap pool layout. Martin County has every reason to be very proud of this exceptional public facility. As a visitor in the area I will promote it every opportunity I get. Kudos must be given to the county management team for maintaining the 74 recreational facilities within the county. There are a few places in the world we have visited that offer such extensive services to residents and guests. Grandma and granddad plan to go back after the kids leave because we enjoyed it so much.
Im not sure how anyone can say its an affordable waterpark. I have been to waterparks that are triple the size of this one with way more to offer for a third of the price. Everytime we go we have to get out of the kiddie area for 30 min because some kid pooped in the pool. Come on people! And its only open part of the year...the part of the year where every kid in the town is out of school.
We went to the splash park for the first time today! It was fabulous! It is clean, it is new, it is safe. They provide life jackets and there are tons of life guards on duty. The lifeguards, they provide a lot of life guards, are watching everyone and never take their eyes off anything. They offer coupons on their website sometimes, they offer weekday rates, weekend rates, and yearly pass rates. It was reasonable for the weekend daily rate to go for the day. They have large restrooms with lots of stalls, an indoor food/gift shop and a drink and ice cream stand outside. The food prices are normal for an attraction. There is a lazy river that they provide inner tubes for, a kids water/splash playground that is awesome and includes a sundeck, two big water slides that are both different, and a very large pool for laps and diving. They have lots and lots of seating including beach chairs, chairs, reclining chairs to layout on, and chairs under giant umbrella like covers for shady areas. The lazy river is absolutely our favorite. There were people of ALL ages and I mean from 6 months to 90's. This is a place suitable for absolutely everyone --- everyone can enjoy themselves and have fun. This is a great attraction for this area or any and every area.
The park has great potential and is very kid friendly. My 3 year old has a white rash guard shirt to protect from sun and two times he has gone down the slide he has come back with black mold on him. Also we have been there at opening each time we have gone and the chairs and ground are dirty with food and are sticky. Do they get cleaned at night? A question for the management response in the previous review: if we are allowed to bring infant formula (or breast milk), or food for special dietary needs, but we are not allowed to bring a small cooler... How do we keep it cool? Overall the splash pool is fun and good for young kids.
Well, I knew it wasn't Waterworld ....so don't get too excited about a day at SS.The kids will enjoy it and the grounds are kept and clean....it is not the Worlds biggest water park, in fact, it might be the smallest.Open only a few months out of the year, this summertime hyper local water setting is really a big pool with some splashing available, but not much.It is an easy spot to find, park, enjoy, and depart. It is an affordable couple of hours of pool time.Manage your expectations and the littler of the little ones will have fun.But..."Wally World" it ain't!
This is a cool fun place for younger kids to enjoy, you can sit n relax at massive wade pool while the kids splash. There are alot of restrictions as to what the little kids can wear on the slides which for their safety is understandable and annoying at the same time.
As a waterpark that is owned by the local county government, it is a very nice and inexpensive place to go for some fun in the sun. It is an ideal place for small children to play. We went with our grandchildren and were pleased at he amount of things there were to keep the kids entertained. Prices of the food stand were very reasonable too.
Sailfish Splash is great! Keep in mind it isn't meant to be Aquatica or Rapids Waterpark. This is a town owned pool. However, it has everything you could want in a small waterpark...lazy river, splash area for smaller children, water slides and diving boards. They have a food stand with reasonable prices. The admission price is reasonable too but make sure to check the website for a coupon. They often offer a discount for purchasing your ticket online in advance. If you are looking for a large waterpark that costs $45 a person then go somewhere else but if you are looking for a way to cool off with kids for the day go to Sailfish!
My family and friends had a great time yesterday, especially my baby. Unfortunately when the warnings are issued and we have to clear the park, people can be a little bit inconsiderate. I understand the staff has to follow orders or rules made by management but a little sympathy in case of emergency can be given. I had to take my baby to the restroom because he had stool all over that could not be clean on the chair or in the car.We were heading to the restroom to deal with that matter when the warning went off. The guards did not want me to go in and clean him up, so my boyfriend instead on the manager. One of them eventually let me go but there was another one in the restroom making sure that we all get out as fast as possible. I ask the guard if I could get some water to wipe the baby of she said no, we have to leave the park as fast possible. I did what I could with the wipes until I got home. My baby and I wanted to wash our hands but we could not, we had to wait until we got home. As I was leaving I notice a lady rushing towards the restroom with her babies. I am not sure if he was management but he was higher in rank than the guards ask the lady where she was going, she told him and he did not hesitate to opening the door for her, but I had to beg to clean my child. Plus we purchase food and it was cold and soggy. I told a member of staff that it was cold and I was willing to wait for a fresh batch. I could see him inside laughing with his coworkers telling them what I said was wrong and playing with it. Other than I had to leave smelling like stool and my food being played with the experience was good.
