My husband and I enjoy visiting the stores and taking a romantic walk down the scenic waterfront, watching the birds, ducks and dream of having a night get-away in one of the beautiful yachts, under the full moon. Stockton is lucky to have this attraction in downtown area. We do not have this where we live.Congratulations, Stockton, for this beautiful place.
Everyone knows Stockton for the Marina. It is always a nice calm place to relax. The fountains and playground are the perfect attractions for children. Or you could go for a nice stroll around the place and look at the ducks and yachts.
You can walk all around the waterfront. It is located very close to city hall, a movie theatre, the civic auditorium, banner ball park, Stockton arena, the court house and an array of restaurants. You can park in the webbers point parking lot on center street and have a picnic. In the summer many kids run through the water that springs up from the fountains. They also have concerts in the park in the summer. Great place to walk around.
Great modern facilities with all amenites at a great rate
We stayed one night in Stockton en route to Yosemite. Out of curiosity went downtown and found the marina area. What a nice place to walk and spend some time on a warm summer evening.
Stockton has some lovely spots and the Marina is one of them. I visit yearly and enjoy strolling there and seeing the WWII Memorial monument and nearby statues honoring the early settlers in The Valley and the Firefighters.
Be around for a special event and it will be fine. The street people who hang around will be away from the area during events that generate crowds. Generally not well maintained.
Very good during the Asparagus Festival of Stockton, ( April) Only 1 hotel and minimal restaurants. Not the safest area to be at night.
We arrived in Stockton by boat and boated directly past the Stockton Marina. I loved the appeal of the white shades - unique as far as what I have experienced. It was incredibly hot when we were in the area, about 110 degrees, so there were few people walking around. In fact, we didn't see anyone walking around.
The views of the baseball complex and hockey arena are nice. there are boats and offices and Nenas Mexican Restaurant. Office workers will be seen jogging at lunch, nice place to take visitors on a warm pleasant day.Except for the occasional homicide now and then in the evening I would have rated it excellent.
