Old style theater brought back to life. This is old Stockton royalty. I'm so glad that Stockton decided to remodel and not to tear it down. It's part of Stockton's history from it's glory days.
Beautiful old building in downtown Stockton. Went with a girlfriend to see Spank! and we had an amazing time. As a new resident of Stockton I would love to see them bring in more fun shows to watch. Also offer very reasonable prices as compared to some of the big shows in San Fransisco.
The theater shows old movies on some Sundays. Great time to support the theater, see an old movie on the big screen (Indiana Jones for example) and go for a tour of the theater afterwards. The tour is great, this place has a lot of history and the story of the rehab is fascinating. Oh, almost forgot: come early to hear (vintage) popular tunes played on the organ.
Increasingly popular venue for concerts, movies and other general performances, as well as political and fundraising events
Growing up this use to be the Fox movie theater where we went on Saturdays for movies. It was empty for a number of years and slated to be torn down when luckily it was saved. Developer AG Spanos, who was a life long close friend of Hope donated a ton of money to refurb it. It is a small venue maybe 1200 people and there isn't a bad seat in the house. We saw Jerry Seinfield who was the opening act after the refurb and I felt like I was sitting in his lap, same with Bill Cosby and Marvin Hamlish.
A beautiful restoration of the the theater. They could have more shows but it is Stockton. There really is not a bad seat in the house.
Best retro theatre in Northern California. Have seen many concerts and movies in its majestic interior.
We saw Jerry Seinfeld here. It was our first trip to the Bob Hope theater. It was beautiful inside. The seats were comfortable and the staff was very friendly. Parking is close by which is an added plus. Would recommend dinner at French25 before a show. Can walk easily between the two venues.
This is a theater that has been in Stockton for at least 50 years. It was originally The Fox Theater, and I still call it that even though they changed the name.It has been restored to its original glory and is the perfect place to see concerts and, occasionally, movies are shown there.Natalie Cole and Glen Campbell have performed here, and I wish they would get more acts here. It is a part of history you must see!
very good place for watchin a movie with your family and also to eat and to have a lot of fun with no stop
