I can't do this drive justice. Trust me, take the drive and bring your camera. Looks like someone dropped colored chalk over the mountains. Spectacular!
You drive along a one way road at 25 MPH and see sights you will never see again in your life - until you come back to Artists drive
Hi everyone I am planning to drive from Vegas to San Fran later this month. I want to go through Death Valley & Yosemite National Parks. I have 5 days to get from Vegas to San Fran. I'm traveling Alone & have no real ideas on an itinerary or what to see. I'm open minded to ideas & suggestions.I'm looking for anyone who has a similar sample itinerary or ideas how to best spend the time. Suggestions on good accommodation along the way would be great too. As I'm traveling alone it would be great to meet people too.......Thanks in advance Nick
Great one way road into a gorgeous area of the valley. The road was paved with many areas to turn out and take pictures.
We didn't have that much time, so we just did the drive and a couple of stops - like at the Palette. I think a better view of the Palette is actually just before the official parking area.
Breathtaking drive late in the day. The color of the rock formations were amazing. Road is one way and narrow in spots.
The canyon is splashed with very interesting muted tones of green, blue, red, brown, yellow. Definitely a place for artists that enjoy painting.
It's a must see drive for nature lovers who visit Las Vegas and surrounding areas. Take the time to savor the moment and perhaps you could use your camera to video record the drive with your spontaneous reactions as you pass through this nature's beauty. These scenic drive is something that we don't get to see elsewhere. Carry water and snacks with you.
Artist's Drive is a one way road that leads you to the some uniquely colored rock formations. They really are impressive and worth the drive. The road is paved and nice. There is a parking area that will allow you to take photos of the rocks. Make sure to hit this on your trip after leaving Badwater.
Amazing colors and formations. The drive is one way - plenty of room to pull over and "gauk" and take your time. A must see!
