This is a great museum for the trolley fan. They offer a short 30 minute trolley ride to the forest preserve and have many displays in the rail yard. They have the oldest operating Interurban trolley in the US ( CHICAGO, AURORA & ELGIN #20). This is a cool place and we will probably come back again.
We went here for my son's 5th birthday! He LOVED it. You can tour old trolleys. The trolley ride is really fun also. You take a short ride to the forest preserve where you can get off and walk a bit. We are thinking of bringing a picnic next time. You can always take the next trolley back. So much fun! A must see!
the Fox River Trolley Museum has a bunch of restored railroad cars that you are able to view and explore. They also offer a short train ride to the local forest preserve and back in some restored passenger cars...not adventure packed nor thilling, but a very plesant and relaxing way to spend a sunday afternoon with your young children or older family members...have taken the ride a few times to let other family members from out of town enjoy it...well worth the time
This museum provides an opportunity to experience World War II in both the German and American camps during a special event each year. You can even experience a baseball game played by the women of the AAWBBL.
