Try to go when it's not too busy for better service. My friends and I were tasting wines ($6 to taste 7 I think it was, and you get to keep the glass) but we didn't learn much since the woman working was busy. Very nice place to sit and chill. Buy a bottle and sit outside. Beautiful in the Islands!
Came here for the summer concert series and had some great wines along with the music. Great relaxing weeknight activity. Good pizza available from Pizza Papillo.
A little out of the way on the Champlain Islands, but well worth looking into, the Snow Farm Vineyard and Winery is a must see in the area. There is a reasonable charge for wine tasting - you will not be disappointed! Our hostess was most knowledgable about each variety - we discovered some new tastes, as well as some regional varieties. We wandered in the vineyard after the tasting - on this day we had the place more or less to ourselves. The area is absolutely relaxing, and picture-pretty.
We just happen to come across this place from reading signs along our trip. We had a wine tasting for a small fee and got to keep the glass.
This was a GREAT experience under the prior owner. Now you are rushed through and the experience is not as unassuming as it once was. I won't be going back because I was rushed and treated like a number whereas in my prior experience I was treated like and old family friend.
We stopped twice while cycling. Once on Saturday and one on Sunday. On Saturday the place was packed and we ask to try the wine sampler. In the end they forgot us and we only had a glass of wine....On Sunday we stopped again with my parents and even though there was only us and another couple the lady stated that we could not have the wine sampler because she was alone. On the plus side the view is fantastic and it a great place to stop when you are bicycling.
Snow Farm Vineyard and Winery is an amazing place to visit in an amazing location. Seated on a hill, on an island overlooking Lake Champlain, it offers sweeping views of the area and a warm atmosphere. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The tasting is affordable and they have great wine! In the summers, we enjoy their weekly outdoor, free summer concert series. Also, they are minutes from the bike path to Burlington. They also offer an array of local products including their own maple syrup and farm raised pork. Yum! Overall, I would recommend Snow Farm to anyone, local or visiting.
A well laid out and climate controlled tasting room. The wine selection was different with more dry and complex flavors than most of the area wines. We found the blends to be the strongest. The Snow White and the Rose Red were our favorites. The ice was was particularly intricate and delicious.A shady veranda looking out over the grape vines made for a great place to enjoy a few glasses before continuing our adventures.
This is a pretty winery to visit. The tastings are reasonably priced. The service was fine. I found the wine to be merely average. Of course, wine is a personal taste, and perhaps you would find the wine to your liking.
First, you've got to go here! The drive is relaxing, the location is attractive, the people are great and the wine is Excellent! Next to a small vineyard is a tasting shop that invites you tables and counters to enjoy a complete sampling of 10 different wines from this vineyard ( 5 whites and 5 reds). The hostess explained the different wines and flavors to a tee! She was great, didn't rush anything and waited to hear your questions and comments. As you progress through the tasting, my palette continued to be teased for more. We left with several bottles of a new wine that we've never had before and probably would not if we had not stopped here. Now that we have a couple of new favorites for the wine rack, I have a feeling that some standing orders may begin. We went in July, I can only imagine that the autumn beauty would be an incredible visual compliment to the wonderful, unique wines.
