Ok . . .so this is after all a brewing company, but I had their homemade root beer and it was awesome. It was a fun place to spend an afternoon with friends. Their selection of hand-crafted beer at $4 is so much fun, but if you find yourself there and wanting something different order a root beer and prepare for a delicious glass of dark, slide down easy, cold forged root beer.
The owner was friendly and outgoing. The locals were as friendly. Great beer. If your in the area its worth going out of the way to visit.
We stayed in Stevensville about a week while on a trip to the Bitterroot Valley, lovely town and beautiful scenery. The brew pub was a nice surprise, and we enjoyed this place more than once! Keep the salty popcorn coming! :)
Love, love, love this place! A fun place to hang out with the locals and sip a few of the excellent brews! Very friendly crowd and great service! Great live entertainment on Wednesday & Saturday evening....always a bonus!
This is a great place to stop for a few micro-brew beers. The cut throat IPA and the Porter our our favorites, but the seasonal beers are also very good. It is a local watering hole, with lots of interesting and friendly guests. They have live music regularly, but it is too loud for conversation when the music is live. They have no food, but you can bring food with you, or order a delivery from Kodiak Jax Pizza. It is family friendly, and you often see young children (there are toys) and strollers.
Cosy old building and they product a great ale. Love that they retained as much of the old building as possible.
We like hoppy IPAs, bitter and flavorful. Blacksmith has the best IPA of all the western Montana breweries. They serve no food, but customers may pick up food at local restaurants and bring it into the brewery. The old, remodeled building has a lot of atmosphere.
We stopped by right after they opened on a Wednesday afternoon, so it was hard to speak to the atmosphere, but they are in a great, historic building, and they've really decorated to highlight the history of it being a welding shop with anvils, metal objects and local brands adorning the walls and bar. Beer wasn't bad, typical American brewery selection.
This brewery is located in downtown Stevensville. The space was an old blacksmith shop way back, and there are some original walls to prove it. Barn wood adorned with local brands (now THAT was one heck of a party!) decorate the walls. Local art and local notices also grace the walls. No food available, but ordering in a local pizza is encouraged. Many nights there is music, great Montana bands and singer-songwriters who can liven up the place quickly. Wait staff is very friendly. Expect to find one or two dogs wandering in and out. A stress free brew for any age or interest!
Privately owned and operated this brewery puts out some great beers. Eric, the owner, has a constant oversight of what is going on, and hires some great brewmasters and offers a variety of seasonal beers. One of my favorites is the Porter, and the ladies prefer...the Blonde. Keep in mind, limited hours....due to the 'Brewery' title. Only snacks served, but you can BYOF, bring your own food!
