It's a lovely walk along the walls and the views across the bay are beautiful. There are plenty of good places to eat and drink too - and all good value at the incredible Bulgarian prices (around £1 for a beer!)
Great selection of bars and restaurants, slightly more expensive than in the town but this is because of the location, but still such good value
A fantastic place to visit, one of the best sights in this charming town. There is so much pleasure going to the southern walls of Sozopol. The atmosphere is great and the views are breathtaking. The sea is below you and there are beautiful and majestic rocks. People love it, so do I. At night the walls are embraced by warm lights and it is even more spectacular. Highly recommended!
It's relatively recently restored with option to walk along the wall, right above the sea. It gives a great view to the bay and town. There's a small museum right by the gate - if you have some 30 minutes to spend on such things, it's a good option to escape from the heat and learn about the history of the walls, their reconstruction and the archeological finds in the area. There are restaurants at the wall, with prices ranging, offering the respective quality for that. Having tried both low price restaurants and a higher price restaurants, I can say both are great, with the higher budget one offering fresh fish cooked in the most delicious way possible. In any case all the places to eat at the Wall are worth the money. There are a few benches along the way, so you can just sit and watch the sea. One also has the option to go down nearby the rock by one of the stairs. A hint - if you visit the museum, its lowest floor gives an option to go in open air right on the rocks by the sea.
There's not really much to say about the southern walls of Sozopol besides that it's a beautiful path walk and has a lot of nice looking restaurants overlooking the bay. If you're in the old town there's no reason not to go here.
As mentioned in the main review the history of this place is marvellous, really marvellous. Walking around it is a delight and lots of money spent on the rebuilding of the former fortifications protecting the old town from invaders. great walk.
There is a lovely walk and view from the Southern walls of Sozopol. It is easy to miss the access to the walls but if you take any right hand turn while going up Appoliana St. from the New Town you can't go wrong.
Scenery, food, wine, shopping, beach restaurants, sun, If a group of 4-6 people get together the taxi drivers willspend a day as a personal driver for a day at a reasonableprice.
The Southern walls of Sozopol are very beautiful with fantastic views. You can have a relaxed walk and enjoy great restaurants with excellent foods.
Pretty, great views, historical look at Bulgaria. Very inexpensive, authentic food. Some crappy cheap shops mixed in.
