Kind a boardwalk type atmosphere. Fun rides for the kids, nice beach, some places to eat. The place is old but the kids had fun. Overall a little dirty. Probably would not go back again. Not much else to do there except for the handful of kiddie rides and the beach. An OK place to stop at if you're passing through. I wouldn't make a special trip for it though.
Been going to Sylvan Beach for many years. Love the beach, amusement park and most importandly the sunsets. Spectacular skies for such a small place in upstate n.y.
This little amusement park sits on the shores of Lake Oneida in central New York. Most of the rides are classic ones, some dating back to the 1960's. Most rides seemed to be in good repair. A pay one price is available if you wish to multi-ride. Tickets are also available. The food isn't too bad. There is still a Fascination game on the grounds as well as Skee-ball. Around ten rides are for the young children. A Galaxi coaster and the Rock-o-Plane are the biggest thrill rides here. Employees were very nice.
I would not go back here. There is rust on corrosion all over the roller coaster rideOver pricedNone of the ride hardlyFood sucksWater is terrible and seaweed coveredBroken glass in the sand F-
Been going to this park for 45 years. But no more. it is in dire need of renovation. past 10 years walkways are dangerous and pavement is falling apart. Restrooms and restaurants within the amusement park I can't believe pass health inspections.(No Soap Or Way to Dry Hands in any Public Restroom) The beach area is filthy and not family friendly. They have 10 -12 overpriced rides and a old rusty roller coaster. Used to like it as a kid but has gone way down hill.
Sylvan beach is a nice one day get away for families looking to entertain their kids. They have a nice amusement park with kiddie rides and lots of fun for older kids too. The beach is nice as well. The town has some restaurants and ice came shops where you can grab something to eat. The parking is cheap, we paid like 2 dollars to park for a few hours.
I used to work at this park when I was in college and actually met my wife here so it has a place in my heart. I also visited all the time as a kid when the park used to be a great family park and being less than 30 minutes away it was a close getaway. However towards the end of my time working here a new owner purchased the park and has since completely ruined it. This past summer (2014) they barely opened and when they did it wasn't until July missing the biggest weekend of Memorial Day. The park has become a dump and they hire just about anyone that can walk and breath as evident by the zombie teens that run the rides now who look like they could care less about what their doing. The rides are overpriced, ill-kept and dirty. The food is also overpriced and the games are lousy, most being built in-house. There is a classic Dark ride but even that has been given the shaft as it is barely anything to ride with darkness being the only thrill. It is sad to see what was once a great park driven into the ground and I wont be surprised if it is one day closed for good.
Good for little kidsGames OK like chuck cheese beach has nothing to do with park only open on good weather days check your weather before departure
Fun rides for the kids, nice beach, some places to eat. It is a good place to bring younger children to have a good time on little money.
This is a small amusement park with the typical rides. Nothing extravagant but a nice way to spend a little time while at the beach.
