The museum is good-looking and well-maintained, with different buildings dedicated to different types of Tang dynasty art (stelae, statues, murals, etc). The beautifully landscaped garden also has some nice statues and stelae outdoors. Easy to get to by bus from Xi'an, but must hitch a bus or car to Liquan city to get transport back. Launch point to get to Tang Taizong's tomb itself. The souvenir shop has some good stuff at reasonable prices, and a friendly, helpful, English-speaking person running it.The museum is built around the tomb of Maogong i.e. Li Shiji, a very important general who served three Tang emperors and helped subdue Goguryeo. One can climb the mound for an alta vista of the surrounding area. There's also a nice, homely restaurant opposite the museum gate.
