We spent the night before the 4.7 at the beach. It is a beautiful sandy and quiet beach with trees and picnic tables . The water is amazingly freezing and transparent. The stuff helped us a lot by being flexible and nice . Thanks to the "rangers" here we had a great experience in lake Tahoe ! Tnx!
A very nice beach on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe, located behind the Wyndham Resort we were staying in. Nice walk down the road from the hotel. The beach is very pretty, loved the fresh air by the Lake. Worth coming and spending some time here.
Parking is a challenge on the Fourth of July, but it was well worth the walk. Absolutely beautiful!!!
The Forest Sercice doesn't allow dogs on Nevada Beach per se, but they do provide easy access to the beautiful dog beach on County land immediately to the South. You can pay to park in their beach front parking lots, then follow the painted paw prints on the paved path at the South end of the lots. You will skirt the edge of the campground and within a couple hundred hards will be at the dog beach. We also went to the dog beach at Kiva Beach. It was nice, but Nevada Beach is cleaner, the water is clearer, and access is easier. Most dogs are off leash and very well behaved. Our lab/retriever mix had a blast! Be a responsible owner and pick up after your pet and keep an eye on them as they play.
Pure beauty! Crystal clear blue Lake Tahoe is the backdrop of this incredible beach. Large, gorgeous, clean beach, clean restrooms, lots of picnic tables and grills. Amazing getaway for a picnic and a relaxing day. Mind-blowing scenery!! I truly feel this beach is indeed a "hidden gem". During the summer there is a vendor in the parking lot that sells various food items (I'm not sure what all they have since we brought a gourmet picnic with us....yummy!)
Lots o' sand!!...a real beach!! :)Met a lot of really good people just trying to 'get away from it all'. Talked to some of the rangers there and they were really friendly. My new bride and I rode bikes around the camp grounds and asked questions of some of the other tourists. Very 'mellow' place and really enjoyed our stay!!
During our last trip out to Reno, we spent a day in California as well and our 5 year old remembered going to the beach and looking for shells & she wanted to do it again, but we didn't have the time to go to CA. We resolved to go to Tahoe and see what we could see. We drove around Tahoe looking for a public beach hoping for a free one, but couldn't find one. We finally decided on Nevada beach where we were charged $8 upon entry. We were able to park close to the beach and walk down. It was beautiful and clean. While there were plenty of rocks & pebbles there weren't any shells, but that didn't dampen my daughters good time. She jumped in the cool water and waded for a while & out 11 mo old twins enjoyed getting their feet wet. For our next Reno trip, we'll probably return with picnic in hand and more time to devote to this beach.
There are two ways to enjoy Nevada Beach, camping and day-use. You can either make reservations to camp there, or pay for a single-day use permit. For the single day visitor that enjoys an easy, picturesque walk/hike, park in the lot off of Kahle Drive and Lake Tahoe Blvd (it's free). The walk is flat (no hills), runs along Burke Creek amidst lots of trees. In the fall, many of the trees turn a beautiful color of yellow/gold.My husband and I always take this walk when in the South Lake Tahoe area.***We were there the first week of October 2012 and the parking lot was under construction. It looks like the city is putting in a new parking lot, adding a paved path and new bridge.**
Nothing like Zephyr Cove... it's very expansive in size. If you have a family, this is the beach.
We spent 2 hours with family and friends in this beach, just 10 minutes Car ride from Lake Tahoe. It is one of the beautiful beaches I visited so far. Beach water is very clean and much transparent. Lots of good sand. kids as well as elders can enjoy playing games.Water is much tasty. Less crowded.beach.You can park your car near to the beach. Parking fee is USD8/.
