My wife and I took our 6 year old and his school friend here on a Groupon deal. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We declined a guide and looked around the main buildings on our own, then took the guided tour of the out buildings (a guide is required for this portion). There are many, many , many cars here. We had a great time browsing through all the classics and learning cool facts from our tour guide. This museum is a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip if you are interested in classic and unique cars in a "garage" setting. Don't pass on the out buildings, even if the weather isn't great. It's a short walk outside, but then you are in a giant building and most of the vehicles, and the coolest in my opinion, are in this part of the museum.
Wanted to see this place again after almost a decade. An amazing place with people there that really care about your visit. Hard to not think of this as the highlight of any trip. Not sure if I will be back, I hope so! Nice, unique gifts in the gift center so we bought stuff there, too. Great place. We enjoyed viewing the Tucker! Five stars!!!!!
Found a groupon for this attraction and decided it sounded like a great adventure. We love cars, so were excited to see what they had to offer. We were not disappointed. The museum was not very busy when we got there, so we got to spend a lot of time talking to the volunteers who work there polishing and caring for the cars. There were makes and models of cars we had never seen or heard of before. Both restored and unrestored cars are on display. If you are a car lover like we are, you will love this museum!
We started out with a car show..All Triumph Drive in and got to go into the museum which I understand is not always open to the public. Enormous amount of great cars! We finished the day with a dinner on property. A fine day indeed!
We spent a couple hours looking at the cars there. So many to see. The person doing the tour did a great job. I used a Groupon to save a little money.
Wonderful display of vintage vehicles. Cars, trucks, motorcycles, fire trucks, even a boat! There is both a self-guided section, then areas where well-informed docents walk with you. A must see for car enthusiasts, but also very enjoyable for anyone.
Loved it! Well worth the time spent in this wonderful, architectural facility that is easy to wander through...No steps at all. Well planned.
If you don't mind walking, this car exhibit is almost better than the Lemay exhibit near the Tacoma Dome. We appreciated having tour guides available to share stories about the various vehicles.
This is the place to go and spend all day (actually, several days) to try and see it all! It's an old military school converted into a museum with cars stuffed in some fun places...like the school showers! And once you've made it through the school building, it's on to several other buildings where the cars are stacked on several floors. My husband was in heaven and it was a perfect birthday outing!! There are free guided tours on the hour up to 3:00...but get there early, as it closes at 5:00. It's phenomenal!! You won't be disappointed!
I took my grandchildren here several months after visiting the new car museum on I5. I was delighted when they told me they liked it even more than the beautiful new museum. The docent catered to my grandsons...answering all their questions and going out of his way to show them the vehicles they were most interested in. Wow, I was so pleased!
