The thing I like most is that I have been going to Lowry Park for over 40 years and they continue to update and improve every year. There are rides, food and best of all they take exceptionally good care of the animals. The habitats for the animals, no matter which ones you see are all very clean and well kept.
Another family friendly park. Everyone had an enjoyable time. Enough attractions to keep you busy for the entire day. Even older family members will enjoy their time spent here.
I think the busiest it ever is has to be during school visits. Probably the only reason it's still open. If you've seen one zoo, you've seen them all. It's ok once or twice but not season pass worthy.
This zoo has an amazing variety of world critters! It also is very well established botanically.. a lot of theme park kind of stuff for young children thus there is much yelling and screaming from kids everywhere.. an unfortunate part of most zoos. This is a great zoo for people to see interesting animals I personally wish zoos did more to help instill respect for animals rather than have the animals more as a side show.. I think Lowry Park has some of both. On the bad side, much of the zoos structure needs attention.. and it is very poorly marked with signs. Finding your way around can be difficult and the map is rather poor. But.. I will go back whenever in Tampa!
Lowry Park Zoo is not the biggest zoo in the country, but it is a wonderful zoo. The animals are really varied. My favorite is the giraffe enclosure, where one can feed a giraffe. It is a beautiful park to walk through. The eating area is typical park food, but the whole experience is a lot of fun.
An all-day, great experience. Free parking, lots to do and many different animals. Several small amusement park rides for kids as well.
We like the Lowry Park Zoo. It is small. Great for small children or a place you can walk around for a couple of hours just to be outside. IThey have a carousel and other small rides for the children. The enclosures for the animals are small so you see the animals without great difficulty. I'm sure the animals aren't happy with the small enclosures. It improves every year for the better.
It's alright of a place if you live nearby and have money/the yearly passes, but for somebody goes thinking you could make a day out of it, it's not worth it. It's very run down and a lot of their animals are absent from their cages/areas. I used to go all of the time as a kid, but ever since then the whole zoo has just been run down and mostly empty, it's sad really, and most of the rides in the kid section were closed due to there being not a big crowd that day.If you want to see a lot of animals, ride great thrill rides, and spend almost the whole day up there, go to Busch Gardens. It's a bit more expensive, but worth it!
A great place to escape the noise and crowding of the city. Lots of trees, nice picnic facilities, easy access. The surrounding neighborhood is somewhat modest, be aware of your surroundings but safe enough.
A good place to take the kids for a couple hours. Certainly not to be confused with larger zoos, but a great place for an afternoon getaway with young children.
