This local beach is very intimate and once I discovered it, I fell in love. It was hard to tear myself away after the sunset each night. Enjoy!
Clean restrooms! Clean area.....Not overly crowded. Lots of sand and water. Giant play area..lots of shade. Perfect sunsets!!
What a great beach in the middle of Tarpon Springs. You can walk on this beach or just relax & enjoy the peace & tranquility. It doesn't get as crowded as the well known places & is very easy to get to.
Wonderful park in the day. Very comfortable with even a Library Box to borrow a book or take one and donate one. Read one on the beach. Fishing was easy. At night on the 1st Thursday of every month they have a Jazz concert and the one in March was great. Unexpectedly it was the Tarpon Springs High School Jazz Band who won first place in their class at a competition at Berklee College of Music in Boston just a few weeks ago.
We LOVE this small beach area with stunning sunset views!! It is a nightly ritual for us to grab a blanket or chair (sometimes cheese n crackers!) and experience a beautiful flaming sky at sundown. If the weather is right, we get the added delight of seeing colorful kite boarders whipping through the air! Check out the event schedules for free music concerts also. Costs nothing but time to experience a priceless gift of nature- we take all our out of towners and they count it a highlight.
Relax in the sun, take a time picnic tables, bathrooms and park for the kids and free and very accesible
A little more private than howard Park Beach, and probably a little nicer overall, but the water here as well is not the best. The sand however, and the scattered palms are like a private island in the carribean- If you don't care about the water (and just the sun) DEFINITELY go here!
Quiet beach - no touristy attractions - very serene.Concerts once a month on Thursday nights. Howard Park nearby
Sunset Beach is the Tarpon Springs city beach and it is a smaller, less refined version of Howard Park. The boat ramp there is very shallow so at low tide you are way out into the gulf. The beach, water, and views here are very good. What makes this place great are the Sunset Beach concerts, great local bands, amazing high school jazz bands and overall good free entertainment. Cool breeze, feet in sand, nice music and a glass of wine (keep that on the down low), what more can you ask for. Bring a jacket of blanket as it will get chilly when the sun god down.
Nice secluded little park with plenty of areas to fish , swim and play. Come watch the kite boarders scoot around in the surf.
