We got a horse out there which was fun. The falls are very nice and inviting for a swim. Not the biggest falls ever but picturesque. Worth the trip.
This was a beautiful place and well worth the walk in the heat. Was fabulous to cool down after hiking down. It took about 30 mins to walk down and 45 back up. Take plenty of water. The water is cold but very refreshing.
One hour walking through the bush, swimming underneath a waterfall and one hour walking back. Splendid experience
The little waterfall and pool are certainly refreshing and beautifully located; I'd imagine most experienced travellers have seen other/bigger/higher/nicer waterfalls. But the interesting part here is the great horseback ride you can do to get there, bringing you through the villages near Trinidad and then deeper into nature. With a swim in the pool (an extra 20 min walk) as nice refreshing highlight.
totally into the nature!.. it is a lovely place and yes.. all the walk it s worth!.. However.. you can do a horse tour and that helps a lot!..
We booked the tour via the casa we stayed in and got a ride to the entrance of the parc where you have to pay to get to the waterfall. This tour was recommended to us from our host as the most beautiful tour to a waterfall that is in this area. Therefore my expectations were really high, what might have been the problem at the end. The way took us round about an hour and I really enjoyed the walk. The natural surrounding is outstanding, there is so much to explore around you, that it does not become boring. I do not think, that it is too difficult, but one should really go in the morning, otherwise it will be just too hot. When we reached the waterfall I was really disappointed It is so small, there is not much place to relaxe and there already were around 25 Tourists, that there was hardly any room left. Besides we were instantly attacked by a bunch of mosquitos. I liked the trip for the walking and the natural surrounding, but I really cannot understand the hype for the waterfall. For me this was the most disappointing trip, I have done in Cuba.
If you have plenty of time, it's a nice excursion. If you do not have much time, rather spend it discovering the non-touristic areas of Trinidad or at Playa Ancon
The casa we stayed at booked the trip for us and we got a ride up to the entrance. It was a nice hike getting to the waterfall, but I expected it to be bigger, but the water was nice and refreshing.
This is not really an organized tourist attraction. It is a mountain where you walk free and at your own advice/risk. The walk to the waterfall is long, and you better reserve lot of time, energy and reserves for it, especially water to drink.I was here with my wife, and enjoyed the long walk although one should be mindful of the sun and the heat too. The water in the pond was very fresh and clean. Luckily the path, water and trails were in decent condition and not polluted at all. No trash to be seen, either due to lack of tourists around here or the discipline of the visotrs.
A hard hike, but then you've got something. The way to the waterfall goes all the way down, adventurous through the forest. When you got really frustating then there is the beautiful pool. On pictures it doesn't seem that nice, but when you're there it's heaven! The way back is hard, we walked about 2 hours, it's steep. But it was worth it!
