I may be biased due to the ski conditions the weekend I was in Telluride, three feet of snow in four days, WOW. Steep and deep. The crew seemed to get runs open fairly quickly. Quality skiing and quality accommodations. Easy access to town or mid mountain. I like the fact that the gondola operates at all hours to travel from mid mountain to town and back. Great restaurants, too...on mountain and off!
Telluride is, hands down, the best ski town in N. America. Terrain is exceptional and among the best here is...but the town itself makes the place what it is. Live music is better than any other ski town and town friendliness is the best anywhere.
All of my experience though out several years has been that Telluride Ski Area is "cream of the crop"! Great facilities, the most beautiful scenery and great snow.
We are long time skiers to Tellluride! I just completed our 20th consecutive season. We are so spoiled by the beauty of Telluride, not to mention the awesome skiing and lack of crowds, we could not imagine skiing anywhere else. The town is welcoming and eclectic, not a typical snobbish resort town. The locals are wonderful and embracing of those who appreciate Telluride for it's special charm and uniqueness. Summer or Winter, you won't find a more beautiful spot for a mountain vacation.
This was our second time to Telluride. What a wonderful and magical place. The skiing is fantastic, people are friendly, and the spirit is truly there! We hope to return in the summer/fall this year along with another ski trip next year!
Great place to ski. Lots of different levels of experience. Ski patrol really takes great care of you if you have a accident like my son did breaking his femur.
We just enjoyed three beautiful days of skiing at Telluride. There is a wide assortment of terrain for all skill levels and many lifts to get you efficiently to the runs. With nearly 5000' of vertical drop from the highest hike to terrain to the base in the village of Telluride, you can connect runs and ski 20 minutes or more without stopping. Lots of good trails connecting different areas, and plenty of options for dining while skiing or after you are done for the day. The Mountain Village is top notch, and the village of Telluride is beautiful, historic, walkable, and holds many surprises. We could have explored much more, but mainly concentrated on skiing. I hope to be back again some day.
Telluride is the place to go for serious skiing. Although the altitude is high (9500ft at the base!) and it is difficult to get there, it is worth both of these minor inconveniences. The mountain is large with many challenges for all levels. "See Forever" lives up to it's name and is not to be missed. The views are not simply spectacular, but life-changing.
Telluride is awesome. Professional and friendly staff, nice slopes, great environment. Highly recommended!!
Large and varied terrain, minimal lift line, high-speed chairs (chair 9 is in need of upgrade), something for everyone, beautiful views
