This museum is an understated gem! It should be the Wyoming state museum! It was huge-we didn't have time to see it all. Very kind people working there. I would absolutely recommend it.
Not worth the money. Me and my family will never go back again. The people there not so friendly more on the rude. Next time I drive to the cody museum which is 100% better.
We found this place by accident as we were in town for one nite. What a treasure! A must see! Loved the Hole-In-The-Wall bar, a Yellowstone Carriage, many Wyoming historical items. The man who volunteered in running the place was a well of information. This is a must see!!!!
We had a very good time here. Was interesting to see more history. Stop in and enjoy the hospitality. Was well worth the stop.
I love the recreations within of various business such as a post office, a bank, a jail, and different rooms of a typical house in the 1800s Wyoming.Bought a cookbook called "Chuck Wagon Cookbook." Will try some of the recipes and report back.
When the high light of this museum is a bar what message does this send to your kids.? Every small town in America has a museum just like this one poor lighting and dungeon like atmosphere .. The building looks like it is ready to fall down.
a great way to spend a rainy afternoon - full of interesting artifacts and history the displays of arrrow heads alone was worth the admission
They crammed a lot of stuff into this museum. Look close, otherwise you will miss something. It is a great museum to learn about the area.
If you are in the neighborhood it is a nice place to visit, but it is not a destination in itself. The boardwalk is nice and a dip in the pool also, but overall it won't take more than 1 hour.
I am surprised the previous reviewer says this is a small museum. OK it is not a big city museum but for a small to middle size city/town, it is amazing. Two large floors of very well displayed and documented material with dioramas, collections fullsized displays, make it arguably the best museum of its type I have ever been in. There is even an outdoor collection of interest period machinery including buildings. There is some incredible history in this area and the museum has captured it all even up to the present. If my wrong, I'll refund your money. Please read Jynie-Lynxie below for some good thoughts on how to enjoy.
