The Dietrich Theater is always a pleasure to see a new movie any time of the year. It is a restored theater with the feeling you do not get from the big theaters. The people are great and the cost is reasonable We never miss the free showing of "its a wonderful life" shown every year during Christmas season.
Tunkhannock's Dietrich Theater is truly a special place. The theatre has such a variety of film options. The service and friendliness is small town community, but the seating, video/audio are big town!
Reborn as the Dietrich Cultural Center, the Dietrich Theater is a wonderful 4-screen movie house that doubles as a cultural center serving Wyoming Country. Once owned by the Dietrich family, today the theater is a 503-C non-profit who's mission is providing cultural services to the community. That means great movies including two film-festivals annually showing quality non-commercial movies, writers, painters, crafts groups, organized trips to cultural events in New York, Scranton and elsewhere. The Dietrich is truly the heart of Tunkhannock.
A great performance by Jay Smar. A very informative musical program and a joy to attend. The theater is a classic from a by-gone era and has been brought up to date. No bad seats.
From first run 3D movies, plays, art exhibits to week long movie festivals the Dietrich is the glue that binds our fine small town. Come for concerts or to see the latest movies in high def digital you won't be disappointed.
The staff were extremely friendly. The A/C broke during our movie (it was 98 outside)... and they brought us ice water and gave us free passes to any future movie. Sound was good. Prices for popcorn/pop was reasonable.
The Dietrich is more than just movies! They offer film festivals, art shows, community events and more! The restored section of the theater is wonderful - I remember seeing movies there as a kid! The new wing features party rooms, comfy seating and two additional screens. Why go all the way to Wilkes-Barre or Scranton?
I've been going to the Dietrich Theater for over 40 years. It was closed for several years and has now been completely renovated and is wonderful! There are several screens for a variety of movies and some great local restaurants right across the street!
Nice, comfortable theater. Friendly, helpful staff. The ability to pre-purchase tickets, nice touch. Doesn't disappoint.
We stopped in to see a movie but were to late. The last show already started. So we just bought popcorn to go. Great service and Great popcorn. Don't forget the butter!
