I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and adventure with BBG. Having a birds eye view with the beautiful fresh air and solitude of being in the sky above one of the most picturesque areas in the world is something that keeps coming back to me even weeks after my flight. Oli the pilot is very welcoming and a true professional. Highly recommended.
It was a fantastic experience! Actually it was the most amazing activity I've done in Byron till now.The view from the sky was totally breathtaking. Oli is an lovely and professional pilot. I had a great time with him in the sky. This is definitely something you must do in Byron and I would like to do it again!!!
It was a great day. I felt very safe. Oli is a 100% professional gyrocopter pilot. I felt totally safe and engaged. Like being right in the middle of the action in a cock pit of an aircraft. Spectacular views over a beautiful part of the north coast of NSW. Well worth the money. Don't miss it !!
Let me keep this real short, sweet and accurate.Expert pilot and real nice guy.Gyrocopter combines the best of a helicopter and plane. THIS IS NOT AN ULTRALIGHT, it is much smoother, much better viewing, more fun, better at handling wind, safer and can simply do things that an ultralight can't like hover real low to watch sea life.On my tour I spotted a whale with her calf, dolphins, incredible sunrise and views. I was left speechless. If you don't believe this review then don't do it but believe me IT WILL BE YOUR BIG LOSS at this once in a lifetime opportunity. As always, do what you wish.
We stayed in Byron Bay for a just under a week in Novemeber, so I'm a little late in posting this review. Sorry Ollie/Paul.I booked this experience without my wife knowing - but I knew it was something she would love once we were back on the ground - even if she was rather anxious once I had told her what it was all about and showed her pics of the copters. And I was right. We had the Ultimate Experience and because of the timing Ollie kindly recruited Paul (his flying tutor) so both myself and my wife would go up together. Myself wiyth Ollie, my wife with Paul. The weather was lovely but there is a slight chill once in the air, despite the provision of a flying suit, and it chilled a bit further when some cloud came in, so I'd say it's worth wearing an extra layer if you feel the cold. The comms between pilot and passenger were excellent with commentary on what we were seeing and where we were going. The views are absolutely spectacular and I would recommend this for anyone staying in the Byron Bay area who fancies something a little different. We flew from the airstrip out to Mount Warning, along the valleys back to the coast at Broken Point, along to the lighthouse, the along the beack to Brunswick Heads, and back to Tyagarah.Make sure you have your camera/video with a decent strap (can't have anything fall out of the copter) and enjy the ride.I often ask myself after an experience "Would you do that again?" And the answer for this experience is "Most definitely yes!"A highly recommended way to spend a few hours, and a great way to see the area from a different unobstructed perspective.
A great experience, with wonderful views over Byron Bay and the lighthouse. Oli (the pilot) also welcomes any questions, and it is of primary importance to him that participants get maximum enjoyment. Those that stay on the ground are also considered, with complimentary tea/coffee. I was captivated by the experience, and highly recommend it.
Have you ever met someone so passionate about what they do that it makes you want to do it? If not you need to meet Oli Mueller. From the time of booking through to the final touchdown he exudes nothing but passion!!!! I organized this for my partners 40th birthday and flew up from Sydney for the day. The scenery was spectacular but it was the overall experience that made it for him. Oli is extremely patient (I was emailing constantly re: weather updates). My partner reckons you feel like a bird in the sky. He saw sharks, turtles, dolphins and picturesque mountains over the hinterland. He is still buzzing. Definitely something an adventure seeker must do!!! Thanks Oli
My wife and I were given a surprise gift of a flight each with Ollie in his Gyrocopter. Before the flight Ollie took us through the operations of the machine which helped enormously, carefully explaining how it worked and what to expect. He was extremely good with this and put both our minds at rest before we took off. The flight was amazing! We flew over Byron Beach and round the lighthouse seeing things like Dolphins and Turtles along the way plus a great and different view of all the local surfers. I was also keen to see my brother in laws house from above in Mullenbinby which again Ollie obliged me. I now have some great aerial photos that only a few people can have of all these wonderful sights. I cannot recommend a flight to you enough !
I bought the Lighthouse flight 1 week ago. I met Oli, a very experienced and sympathic guy, and he took me on a ride with this his Gyrocopter. We started at the Tyagarah Airstrip and made our way to the Lighthouse above the beach. We saw some big stingrays, dolphins and even sharks !The flight experience per se was incredible ! Felt like a motorcycle in the sky ! Absolutely loved it!
We booked the Lighthouse Flight with Oli, the experienced pilot and instructor (Oli was my paragliding flight Instructor years ago in Germany) and it was an amazing experience! I loved the open cabin the makes you feel the wind around you and even more enjoy the beautiful nature: there were rays, turtles and dolphins in the sea (and numerous surfdudes), next to the beautiful view of shoreline of Byron. And it was great to fly above the lighthouse, the landmark of this region. I felt 100% save with Oli and I am glad to have had this wonderful experience!
