Enjoyed the experience very informative the gentleman who took our tour was very happy to answer our questions there were penguins in the rescue centre and we saw a baby chick in the wild but unfortunately not many penguins coming around loved the experience thank you
A bit pricey but was a good way to actually see penguins without going to the island at sunset. Interesting penguin talk and feeding. Just a bit smelly as expected
There were 8 penguins and we arrived just in time for feeding time. The lady who looked after them was really informative - she had names for all of them. She had had one of them for about 10 years. On the way out her husband had a Control bearded lizard and let my husband hold it. A very enjoyable visit and well worth the entrance fee.
We visited the centre at feeding time and the lady there was so informative and the Penguins were just gorgeous. There are not many there as its little fellas who can't get released back into the wild. The centre gets no funding so your entry fee all goes to keeping this place alive. A must on granite island to help keep the cause going,
We walked over to granite Island purely to visit the Penguins. We were there for the 11.30 feed. It was $8 per adult to watch the feeding. The penguins are very well cared for and the staff have great knowledge. Worth the visit and id happily pay again and again knowing the hard work this center does!
Credit to the volunteers and what they have to work with. But with no Government support and all but no penguins left on the island, last count about a dozen and only 3-4 in the centre what would you go there for other an penguin information. It's a shame that it has got to this. Though a walk around Granite Island is enjoyable and very scenic.
Wonderful to be able to help out a little once we were discovered the plight of the fairy penguins on Granite Island. Great to see the penguins up close and to see them in action at feeding time.
We wanted to go on a penguin tour while we were in Victor Harbour for the week. We called a few times during our stay, to both the centre (and got voice mail) and two different mobile phone numbers (and got voice mail ). We left messages each time (3 different numbers) and no body bothered to call us back.Even called visitor information who tried to call and had no luck. So would have been lovely to see the the penguins but we couldn't even get to make a booking.
We timed our visit with the penguin feeding which they do twice a day. It was great to get up close to the penguins. Great for kids & adults. Catch the horse drawn tram out and make a day of it.
This was a wonderful and cheap way to spend a few hours with my partner. The people were incredibly friendly and the penguins of course were a stand out. I would highly recommend visiting the centre when in Victor.
