The water here is cold, and many areas are no swimming beaches because of the undertow, but you can walk for miles on the promenade and enjoy the beach activity and atmosphere. The wind can be a bit cool, so bring a light sweater.
We were here one afternoon with some chilean friends, it was explained to us that rich chileans come and buy apartments as weekend places to have to get out of santiago, great place very clean and a couple of med-to-expensive restaurant around. Nice seagulls around and pelicans can be viewed on the beach.
Beautiful beach very close to Viña del Mar, easy to get by bus or car. It isn't a Caribbean beach, the water is cold, but very beautiful and relaxing. The views are amazing, and it's great to just sit on the sand. There are lots of restaurants close by, but I recommend eating 'empanadas'.
If your breakfast started after 10 a.m., Reñaca is the perfect spot for a late-afternoon lunch break. There are plenty of restaurants lining the beach promenade and another handful of options in the area, ranging from sushi to pizza. You may need to wear a scarf for the evening seabreeze.
WOW, pretty nice uncrowded beach, located very close to Vina. Good parking, several resturants within walking distance, several cheap hotels also.
The renaca beach is quite fancy and you can find a variety of bars and restaurants around. It is worth a visit!
I was quite disappointed with the city, and this seaside is no different -- lots of homeless dogs, garbage everywhere. Definitely not the worse in town, but can't recommend.
Nice beach and good sushi near by our hostel. We stayed at renana beach hostel. Great views and friendly staff.
Reñaca has a small downtown, where there is not much to do in there. The beaches are nice even though the water is so cold, you cannot stay more than half an hour because you start to feel your legs freezing. The nightclubs are far away from Reñaca.
It was nice to see but would not go out of my way to check it out. I can say I saw it but once I was there didn't really want to deal with the hassle of parking.
