Horrible Customer Service! We camped here last year and had a great time so we decided to get a group of friends and family to camp this weekend (July 11-13) for my sons birthday. Friday went very smoothly, we checked in and got settled in at our pop up location. Saturday however did not run so smoothly, first they had the large pool shut down for the first few hours so the lazy river was packed and not very relaxing, once they were able to fill the pool up everything started to settle down other than the staff friendliness and concern. While I understand they are typical teenagers, there are too many children around to be paying more attention to their phones. Come about 7pm, a portion of the campgrounds electricity went out (unfortunately mine was a part of that), after hearing many different rumors I went up to the front store (who had power) and spoke with a man name Joe. I asked him the severity of the situation, he told me that it could be anywhere between 4-6 hours before power was restored. As I continued to inquire more details I could tell he was getting irritated and continued to let a woman next to him who had no company uniform undermine my concerns as she slurred her words. He went on to tell me that "this happens all the time" which I would think would mean to find a service worker closer or have a back up generator for situations like this. When asking him about receiving a refund, he informed me that they left the pool open later than normal which after being in the sun all day did me little good since we were all worn out. I finally got out of him that they were having to send a service technician from Houston, so the 4-6 hours could actually be 6-8 hours and when I asked about what we should do about the young children since we did not plan for outdoor camping when reserving our spot, I was told that they really didn't know what we should but that we would be fine and that we would just have to start a fire and socialize, and that this wasn't their fault but Centerpoints so no refunds would be allowed since as they said, if it happened at home there would be no refund so they don't have to refund. If i'm not mistaken, if I have no electricity at home then I am not being charged. So I reminded them that I paid them for the electricity that I was not being able to use and they informed me that they would just let people swim later the next day not taking into consideration those who need to travel home in preparation for the upcoming work week. Not once did they apologize for any of the inconveniences caused by this but instead blamed everyone else for the parks issues and undermined the guests concerns. All in all, I am very unhappy with the customer service and will not return, nor will the guests who spent more than my family did since they rented cabins. I will be sure to spread word of mouth about this situation.
The waterpark was so much fun and we rented a eight person cabin and a golfcart for the weekend. My kids loved it there was always something to do Karoke, ice cream social, meet yogi, and I would defiantly go back again.
Stayed July 25th -27th. My husband, myself and 3 kids. First time camping with family in 3 years in our pop up camper. First time and now LAST TIME at this park. Put in a sea of tents that had people staying up and putting up tents ,playing loud music and partying loudly till 3:30 am. No enforcement by staff of quiet time. POWER WENT OUT 10pm, not back on till 5 am!! HOT LOUD MISERABLE NIGHT!!!! Slides didn't work till late afternoon Saturday also due to power issues. Gameroom filthy, stinky and half the games broken. I emailed them when we got home telling them how unhappy we were and got no response!! After reading other reviews I see the Power problem is an on going issue! This place is not worth the money!! My kids even asked if we could go home early! How sad is that?
Just not worth the money and time. All kinds of people go to this place. Just watch your back and things. Some of the food stand staff can be rude. Place is more like a rat race than a vacation with relaxation and fun.
We just purchased a 31' travel trailer and our second trip was to Yogi Bear park in Waller, TX. It seemed a bit pricey at first but after pulling in we found the park to be clean, well maintained and full of activities. The water park is small in the scheme of water parks but the fun was still there...we were able to relax in the pool, cooling off and chilling with the family. There is an adults only pool and the lazy river, we really had fun floating around on the lazy river. There are a few water slides that my son enjoyed with his uncle while we stayed in the pool and watched. We rented a golf cart to really be able to explore the park and see what all there was going on. We had a lot of fun with the golf cart just cruising around to catch a breeze and do a little sightseeing. The ranger store a bit of everything including the things you forgot at home and some things you never knew you needed - like a smore maker for the campfire! There are activities planned throughout the day that younger kids would really enjoy. They show a movie in the evening on the big screen where you bring your blanket to spread out on the ground and relax. We are going again for the Labor Day weekend and are really looking forward to it. The staff are very helpful and pleasant - over all we really felt like we were out in the woods camping with several luxuries like the pools and yet we were just 35 minutes from home! They offer day use of the water park area as well as the overnight camping so even if your just looking for quick get away with some splash time for kids it was really nice.
Even after all the bad reviews, people continue to go. I paid approximately $468.00 for two nights in a cabin to get to sleep in it one night. The power went out on Saturday night and with young children we could not stay. We had to pack up the whole fridge and drive all the way home to come back the next morning. They tried to blame it on Centerpoint but I am not buying it. It happened just the weekend before. If I had wanted to stay without air conditioning I would have asked for a tent space and I would have not paid $468.00 for one night. We did not get any money back. We drive all the way back Sunday morning just to find out the big slides were "broken". I dont buy it at all!!!!! We also heard they lost a key to the slides. To be honest my kids loves those slides and was a big reason we decided to stay there and I paid $468 to sleep there one night and have one small slide available. We also got woken up at 8 a.m. with a staff member mowing around the cabin. No money returned. That place could be nice with some money put in to it and some staff that has some authority.
We stayed here with kids ranging from 2 thru 15. We had an amazing time. The staff went out of their way to include my 11 year old son who is in a wheelchair. He pool and play areas were very clean and the entire park was well kept except the lake edge. Not easy to fish in the lake but we saw many people fishing. The movies at night we very kept the kids interest and the crafts and games during the day kept us busy. Always something to do. Our kids loved it and we will definitely be back again!
Our entire family went to Jellystone this year and we all loved it. The three grandkids enjoyed the waterpark and being able to ride their bikes safely. We rented a cabin that sleeps 10 and were satisfied. This is not a 5 star-hotel, so if that's what you're looking for, this is not the place for you. This is a place you can take the kids where is it clean (my home is not much cleaner), quiet, and safe to let the kids be kids. It had 3 large slides, and lots of slides in the water park area, several pools a "lazy river" you can float down. As well, there is a miniature golf course, an outdoor movie at dusk, an activity center that has things going on for the kids. The only thing we would do different is the timing of when we go again. We stayed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Because on Saturday they have lots of day visitors, I think when we go next year, we will go on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. It is so very quiet on Thursday and Friday. The other thing we'd do different is not bring food for lunches; they have a very reasonable snack bar that has good pizza, sandwiches and lots of things the kids liked. All in all it is a great place for a trip with kids.
My stay was July 24-26, 2014I usually dont write reviews but I had to...to warn others night to stay and spend the money to stay in an old out dated cabin. First day, check-in was easy and all the staff I encountered were very nice. I stayed in a Cindy Cabin on the Lake #201, cabin was old, had 2 A/C units, to much brush around the front to actual fish...that was the reason we wanted he lake front cabin and ended up having to walk down to the other side of the lake to fish. Then is was off the the water park and I must admit we loved the water park, I had 7 kids with me ranging from 3-11 years old and they were never bored and never was my family, my self and husband we spent the whole day at the water until it closed at 8pm. The next day off to the water park again, around of putt putt golf, ride on the train and everything was going smooth until someone throw-up in the pool and everyone had to get out to be cleaned, i understand they had no control over that. So off to the cabin we go to eat and build a fire for the night. That's we it turned UGLY.... THE POWER went off at 10pm and did not come on until 5am!!!!!!!!! We were sweating bullets in our cabin, seeing that we could only open two windows cause the other two had A/C in them it was horrible!!! After many calls to the emergency line and the constant change of time the POWER would be back on, we left, my son as asthma and can not handle that type of heat. I paid for power not a tent and that's exactly what I got and a course NO REFUND, manager wasn't there to approve any....Which I say is a butt load of crap!!! So PLEASE fare warning do not spend the money here until they fix up this place. Some inside scoop: New cabins on the lake are 194-199 & old cabin on the lake are 200-205, stay away from those 200's on the lake if you must go here which I strongly advise you not too!!! Bring bikes to round around the park and to & from the pool. Grocery shop in Houston before actual getting to the park, the one grocery store in Waller in pricey. BUT FROM MY EXPERIENCE and many others of TripAdvisor save your money and find someone else to take you family!!!!! Please stop going to this park until everything is on point!!By the way this wasn't my first trip, I went about 3 years ago and everything was good then...I think it poor management and customer service skills that is ruining this park.DO NOT STAY AT THIS PARK!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!
This place is terrible! Rude & uncaring staff (pool staff on phone instead of watching the pool/slide areas & Joe the "manager" had no power to give any information or make any decisions when issues arose). Old rusty/falling apart slides--a major accident waiting to happen! Power out on Saturday night with no compensation & slides not working at all on Sunday. Nothing but lame excuses given & no responsibility taken by any of the staff. Never again! Don't waste your time or money.
