Rarely do you get to see glass blowing in action...so this was a treat. The viewing area has a large window and we could see the piece from beginning to end...absolutely beautiful. Some reviews have said the pieces are pricey but remember this is not made in China, this is an original made in USA....I bought a beautiful piece and had them ship it. I can't wait for it to arrive. Not the typical attraction...we'll worth your time if you appreciate the arts.
There was no glass blowing that week we were there, which was disappointing. What made it worse was the saleslady never got up, never greeted us, never tried to make the items in the shop interesting. In fact, it wasn't very welcoming. She spent a lot of time surfing on her phone.Maybe if there was a glass blowing demonstration, it would have been better.
Quaint and unique shop that is a must see while you're in Waterbury. The studio is so neat. You can sit and watch the glass blower & we were lucky enough to get some information from the sales clerk while the gentleman was making a vase. Such an interesting experience! Great for kids!!
The building is divided between the glass work space and a store that sells the things the owner makes. There's a nice air conditioned viewing space to watch, and if the store isn't busy, the guy behind the counter will talk to you about what the glass blower is doing. This guy has been blowing glass for 38 years, and he's really wonderful to watch. He also makes virtually everything in the store (not the glass beads), so you can go in the store and see cool examples of the things he's just made. And the glass work is lovely as well.
We could have watched this guy for hours. What a true craftsman. Such beautiful works of art. Next time we are in town we will be sure to stop in again. Don't miss this' it's a great place.
This is a nice shop. There is a varied selection of unique glass items to purchase. Every year we find something to purchase either for ourselves or a gift. The glass-blowing demonstrations are awesome.
This is a neat little shop. The presentation of the glass blowing was fun to see. The prices were a little too steep for my taste. Worth seeing if you want to kill 20 minutes.
Very nice varied selections of items to purchase. When I first looked around, i thought it was a bit expensive. But then I went and looked at Mr. Ziemke working and creating a piece. It is so interesting to see a how this is made, how much mastery and patience it takes to create each piece. I went back to look in the store and ended up buying a beautiful red wine glass.
Amazing skill. Actually got to see the glass being blown and formed. Wonderful experience. Glass pieces throughout the store are beautiful. Bought a few for christmas gifts.
The glass blowing is outstanding, the gal at the desk answering questions and talking about the process made it even better! We learned a ton.
