NO shops-just offices and some restaurants. There are lovely walkways along the river, however, if you just want to go for a stroll on a nice day. The restaurants long here are good, but not anything too special.
We stopped at benches to people watch, stopped to read each description of the birdhouses, stopped to watch the water taxis go by, stopped to peek at diners in restaurants along the way, and stopped to see how the setting sun had changed the vista every few minutes. Finally we stopped for dinner. Will return.
We have friends in Delaware and they brought us here for an evening meal and walk. Had a great time on the boardwalk except that it was a bit chilly. Would love to walk here on a nice summers day. Lots of restaurants along the boardwalk overlooking the Christina river. Their are a few museums along the boardwalk including the Delaware Children's Museum and if baseball is your thing the "Blue Rocks" play here. Many interesting bird houses along the walk as well. Great place to have a good meal than walk it off!
The riverwalk has quite a history and is filled with nice restaurants, markets, a minor league ball field and ...a mile long walk. It's not San Antonio, but it is well worth the visit on a nice day. Be sure to walk down to the Peterson Wildlife Refuge. It's beautiful!
Walk down North Market Street to the river if you have a little time to kill before or after dinner in town -- or to check out one of the riverfront eateries. It's not a major destination, exactly, but it was a pleasant way to pass some time outside.
This is a sidewalk that follows the river, which is not very wide or used by other boaters that we could see. There are some restaurants and places to stop in but not a lot of anything. We were disappointed with it.
It is a nice place to stroll after a good meal in town as it is usually fairly quiet and laid back along here.
Enjoyed a brisk walk along the water. Nice thing to kill some time while having house guests for 9 days.
If guess if you have nothing to compare it to, then it's ok...but I was expecting something more because I have been to many river walks around the US. I was wasting time while my husband was in a business meeting. I walked the board walk, stopped and had a snack, but that's about it. Perhaps I went at the wrong time.
So much potential but yet dead, boring and so quiet. Maybe it will be good during the holidays. If you have been to other places like San Antonio, Jacksonville, San Pedro, OKC, Singapore and etc. You will be disappointed. The most positive thing I have to say is easy and free parking. A few shops and eating places but there is nothing to see but some joggers, some ducks and water and grass.
