This is one of the nicest zoos you will ever visit. It is large, but not too big. It has many different attractions, and the walkways and trails are beautiful. The animals are in their natural habitat. You would not think a city the size of Waco could have such a great zoo.
This is seriously one of the nicest zoos I have ever been to. The layout is great, and the animal enclosures are very nice. They also have a nice amount of shade built in for the hot Texas summers.
Its very small compared to other zoos I have been to. Better for younger kids as there was not much walking. Nice indoor exhibits as Texas can get quite hot.
The Cameron Park Zoo has a wonderful quaintness, with it's beautiful trees and hilly landscape, that helps to make a day at the zoo even more enjoyable. It's manageable size allows for spur of the moment, it's a beautiful afternoon, trips that some larger zoos, because of size and price would not allow. Plenty of pleasant seating areas for breaks, and a very cool water spray area for the kids to play while the adults can enjoy a restful break. Cameron Park Zoo is well worth the trip. You can find a coupon at the Heart of Texas Visitors website.http://www.wacoheartoftexas.com/visitors/coupons/
I've visted this zoo multiple times and its small and well groomed. It's the perfect size for young children to visit since thier attention span is limited. :-)
Since I am a single adult, I only go with my godchildren. I enjoy seeing the animals, especially the otters, which features a slide for kids to enjoy, and slide through their water habitat! They are such interactive creatures, anwyays.
All of the above. Walk the trails, play disc golf, ride bicycles, visit Miss. Nelly' s pretty place, visit Lover's leap, let the kids play in the water park, play volley ball, have a cook out, feed the ducks. Sit on the banks of the Brazos.
Ive been many times with my son when he was small. We always enjoyed the natural habitats and animal antics.
The Cameron Park Zoo is a great place for a day out with the family with a fun play ground with splash pad for hot days.
The zoo has a beautiful setting. Inside a wooded park that was given to the city of Waco by William Cameron early in the 20th century. There are lots of animals and has one of the best landscaped zoos anywhere. It's one of Waco's best assets.
