A visit to this Schloss with its wonderfully-trained guides is a wonderful trip to the past glory of the local aristocracy. The beautifully preserved rooms and paintings of its erstwhile residents give life to one's imagination. The ballroom is exquisite! So are the gardens; in short, a jewel of a schloss!
This is a large palace in a small town. We love the garden walk, and were fortunate enough to hear a live orchestra show set up at the end. We were also able to witness a farmer's wedding with a tractor procession. The town is lovely and the market place has some nice restaurants.
This Hoehenloe palace next to a tiny village stood undisturbed for centuries. The artifacts and decoration are in like-new condition. Amazing.
Whilst staying in Rothenburg for the Christmas markets we decided on a drive out to see if the Schloss was open. Luckily we arrived just in time for a tour on which we were the only visitors. The lovely and helpful guide was extremely patient with our limited German and we found the whole tour very informative. the view of the gardens from the very impressive main hall was superb. apparently in the summer the gardens are lovely and we would happily return in the future to see them.
Nice garden, original renesance and baroque rooms, located in nice old small town, on the Romantic way in Germany
Ein schönes Schloß in einem schönen kleinen beschaulichen Ort. Der Schloßpark ist sehr schön und für einen kleinen Spaziergang sehr zu empfehlen.
We decided to stop by Weikersheim and have a look at the schloss while wandering up the Romantic Road. What a suprise to find such a charming town with an absolutely beutiful castle and gardens. We could not stay for the guided tour, but wandered around the gardens and enjoyed strolling through town. We are planning to make this a designated stop on our next trip. It is definitely worth a stop!
Saved from modernisation or worse this palace is kept quite original and is well worth a visit. The former inhabitant watch the french closely and copied that for his own palace. The garden is very to walk around in. Pay attention to the garden gnomes sitting at the edge of the garden, they are modelled after the former palace staff.
Each room is different style. You need guided tour.Unfortunatly there is no other language just German. But it is ok.Especially ball room with the music is phantastic.Garden is nice.
