This is golf the way it is suppose to be, challenging but fair. This course is immaculately maintained and offers great views on the majority of holes. The price is a bit steep but the experience is one any avid golfer would cherish. The par 3s are all over water and really fun holes. The yardage is short but the course plays nicely. This one is on my top 10 public course list!!!
No snoozing on this beauty. Hills and dales, blind pin placements and up and down lies, all on the course which is beautifully laid out. Always top rated this course is one you have to play to appreciate. And yes, bring some extra balls.
Friendly reception, good pace of play, well maintained course, medium challenging. Good value with discount from the hotel. What more do you want? Maybe a little more variety in the course design(green course). All in all, a really nice round of golf
Free replay rate, so played 36 holes for $98. If this were a non-resort course, $98 would seem a bit high for this course, but since it is in a resort town it seems average (cheapest in W-burg). The no-fee replay was a huge plus. A negative though was that we couldn't book a 2nd tee time until we were finished the first round. Luckily, the weather wasn't great and seemed to keep others away so we were able to do a quick restart. Greens rolled well even with the inch or so of rain. It was cart path only that made for a little more walking than planned, but we made the best of it. Par 3's were a lot of fun to play but the rest of the courses wasn't that memorable. Still would recommend to play if had the chance again.
This is a fabulous experience at golf! If you are a golfer, you will love the scenery and the challenge!
The Gold Course is a true gem. Located right in the heart of historic Williamsburg this course has everything going for it .... challenging layout, beautiful views, elevation changes, tight fairways. You have to pay attention on every short or you will visit the double bogey man or worse. Starter was just great - provided a ton of insight before we teed off and glad he did.
Well maintained and a wonderful experience. The only thing I didn't like was that when we were finished, the grill was closed and we couldn't get a drink and early dinner.
Played the green course and had a blast. This was the start to a gentlemen's weekend and it really kicked things off in the right direction. The green golf course was in perfect condition and mirrored a PGA course. The staff was friendly and the price was right thanks to a military discount.
We played the Green course this time with two members and really enjoyed it. Fairways are generous but approach shots demand precision. Greens rolled fast and true. The course was in excellent shape.
This is a nice golf club right in the heart of the old area of Williamsburg, on England Street. The clubhouse is nice and comfortable and they serve a good lunch. There are two courses on this site, one a full 18 holes championship size and the other is a 9 hole course. We have played on the 9 hole several times (you can go around twice to play 18). It is quite a challenging course and pretty with hills and hazards. The rate when we last played was about $23.00 for 9 holes. They originally told us $20 so we booked the tee off time and had lunch then came back to check in and begin the game. However, they arbitrarily upped the price to $23.00 after quoting us $20.00 so we were a bit put out. I would recommend you get a firm price for the greens fee and pay for it on the spot, then if you go back later to play they cannot change the price structure. Nevertheless, it is a nice little course to play so I would recommend it.
