The shop owner is very knowledgable about the trade as this has been his family's business for many years. Cameo earrings of Lady Venice were the perfect (and non cheesey) memento from our trip!
This jewelry shop specializing in cameos was recommended to us by a local Venetian who seeks out the traditional craftsmen and women who produce their wares in Venice. I was surprised to find it in such a touristy location, but sure enough, the shop owner is the artisan and his work is beautiful. Many cameos in agate and corral in gold and silver and many sizes. You can get custom work done there as well if you wish. Great place to get cameo's and learn about the process and chat with the artist.
I had a fine experience at Eredi Jovon! Great value for great cameo! Will come back for sure! Not to mention the amazing owners with their friendliness! From Egypt with love!
A little jewellery shop located on the Rialto Bridge :) Lovely place to find a gift for yourself, friends and/ or a loved one. As a keen shopper I believe an overall positive shopping experience includes both quality item and shop assistance; both which Gioielleria Eredi Jovon achieve! The craftsmanship is incredible and lots of different jewellery pieces to suit different tastes. Such variety can present a hard decision on which piece to purchase. However, friendly service and honest opinions make it a wonderful shopping experience. A must in beautiful city of Venice :)
Based on comments here I visited Marco on my first afternoon in Venice. Wow! He could not have been nicer or warmer or more helpful. I know that coral and cameos are his specialty. But, I bought a lovely lapis bracelet. He was very honest with me about the quality of the stones in his jewelry which I really appreciated. And he even gave me a little price break on the bracelet that I bought. Dealing with him was a real pleasure. And that evening I even went back to him to ask for a referral for a restaurant and he came through. Please make sure to visit him- you will not be disappointed. I certainly wasn't.
Went in to browse the items on display. They have plenty to look at but a lot seem similar to one another. I did purchase a ring which is beautiful but took awhile for the shop owner or clerk to even acknowledge me when the store was empty. He seem rather speak to people outside the store then paying customers inside. Only real chat we got was the thank you at the end of the purchase. A bit of a let down.
We came across this shop on the Rialto Bridge by chance, the man assisting us was a gentleman and not at all pushy. He explained his products in detail and we were very happy with our cameo. Do note that his shop only specialises in cameo and not general jewellery.Definitely worth a visit :)
Thank you very much guysIt was a cold sunday and you really make my day tooWarm person like you will be always welcome in my shop, and I wish you all the bestHugsMarco
We have been buying Cameos from the Jovon family for some years now in person. and over the internet and have never been disappointed, to say the least. They are the most delightful and helpful family you can wish for.Marco, thank you very much for your assistance on 14 February and I am looking forward to seeing the custom cameo I order. Your assistance, professionalism and friendliness surpasses all.
While shopping, ask Jovon what he thinks of Italian politics. You will get a free, passionate, and very interesting history lesson. Jovon speaks great English and runs a very honest, professional shop. Buying from him was our best shopping experience in Venice.
