I am surprised just how many people who weren't aware that Wells-Next-Sea has a beach, they talk about the boat ( Albatross) or Frenchies chippy. The beach is amazing with golden soft sand and the pretty beach huts but walk past them and carry on towards Holkham and the beach seems to go on for miles with the bird life in abundance, Harriers, Egrets, Curlews. A true gem.
Absolutely love it...nice in the summer as well as in the cooler period...not as commercial as some places...nice getaway...and on the top of that dog friendly!!
Our dog loves this beach. The dog friendly section does involve him climbing quite a few steps up to it and down to it, but it's well worth it as it stretches for miles, and the dunes are great for him. The tide goes out a long long way, so if your dog likes the sea you may have a really long walk for him to get wet.
Soft sand, sand banks, colorful beach huts and lovely long beach walks. The beach cafe is well worth a stop.
Digby (the cockapoo) First time on a beach and he loved it lots of other doggies to play with. Was not to sure about the sea spent a lot of time barking at it, methinks he is a latter day King Canute, very tired but satisfied little dog.
Wells Next The Sea is a wonderful place to stay it is quiet and relaxing and the walk from the harbour car park out to the sea and along the sand is so refreshing, this is the second year we have visited January/February and would return again. Plenty of birds particularly waders when the tide is out, in fact received a phone call from a friend who asked were we in a bird sanctuary from the call of the different birds he could hear over the mobile. Plenty to do and see without spending a lot of money or travelling far.
I have used Wells next the Sea Beach for many years and it never fails to delight. Whatever time of the year, each visit will be different due to lighting, tides etc. Super photographic opportunities with the Beach Huts and Sand Dunes and in inclement weather the Pinewoods afford shelter!Don't miss it!
Great Beach with ample parking but can be quite expensive to park all day and very busy at the height of summer.A lovely sandy Beach with beach huts, the beach seems to stretch for miles.Steps up to the beach.
Fab smells of pasties and sausage rolls or some made soup greet you you cant resist. Something for you to eat whilst enjoying the spring sunshine whilst your faithful mut enjoys the hydration station. great selection love it
Love the sand ,beach huts and the pine woods behind the beach. Lovely walk from Wells to Holkham, go out through the woods and return via the beach.
