We did the Sunset tour this week and enjoyed our day very much. Graham picked us up from our motel in Mildura and drove us out to Mungo. He gave us a very informative commentary along the way. We had a couple from Switzerland with their two boys on the mini bus with us. Whenever the boys would see a kangaroo they would jump up and down and scream kangaroo, kangaroo. There's a lot of kangaroos on outback roads...it made for a fun trip. We picked up a few more passengers staying at the Lodge and headed to the information centre. Graham's knowledge on Aboriginal history is amazing. His sand drawings explaining his family totems were particularly interesting. We had ample time to visit the information centre and old wool shed. After a lovely dinner of cold meats, salad and dessert we headed to the Great Wall of China where we were able to take photos as the sun set. Since 2011, you can only enter the site if you are with a guide. All in all, a very enjoyable, thought provoking tour. Highly recommended
Hello Rob, Thank you for your time to review our tour. Our company has been a 20 year long standing company which caters for customers locally, nationally & internationally. As we do have people that travel a long way to visit us we try our best to provide in a short amount of time as much indigenous insight and knowledgeable information on how the indigenous people once lived and how climate change has structured the land. Graham as a traditional owner receives a lot of positive feedback on the knowledge he shares with people and yet we also understand that this extra information sharing is not for everyone as it appears to be the situation here. As we have a long standing relationship with the tourism industry domestic and international we are sorry to hear that we have not met with customer expectations so we do welcome direct communications so that we may strive to improve ourselves. Our company takes our honest feedback seriously we do have a company resolution process for customers and welcome you to contact our office management direct on manager@harrynanyatours.com.au should you wish to advise us directly of the situation or if you feel a third party could assist you we would be happy to work directly with another channel you may choose.Yours trulyManagement of Harry Nanya Tours
I didn't know much about Mungo before this tour, but had a great time listening to Graeme talk. Graeme definitely challenges they ideal way of thinking, which I found truly enlightening and enriching. I loved hearing about how they have found and dated the various fossils, how the people lived off the land and how stories have been passed down through the generations. Really interesting, really informative, and the kids (6 and 8) loved it too. Great meals also put together and Graeme answered all questions that I had very openly and honestly. I'm glad I did a tour - it would be a wasted visit seeing Mungo without a knowledgeable guide.
Today we went on the Harry Nanya tour to Mungo, in his Minibus. He knew all the names of the trees, plants and birds all the way there, he gave us the most interesting commentary. He is a very intelligent, and knowledgeable person on Aboriginal History all over Australia, and is personally connected to the area of Mungo. You wouldnt want to go with anyone else but him. We had a nice morning tea with pikelets, quondong jam and wild lime jam, then later a lovely lunch, he catered for us vegetarians with Lentil patties , salads, and bush sauces. He doesnt rush his tours, and takes care of elderley folk with patience. Anyone interested in aboriginal history has to take this tour, once in a lifetime.
A visit to Mungo National Park is a must when visiting the Wentworth-Mildura area and we chose this tour company because we hoped to mix the archaeological science with the romance of the Aboriginal Dream Time. What we got was a half baked opinion piece on ancient history. There was so much that our guide claimed to know more about than "the experts" that at the end I wasn't sure whether any of it was true. His lecture on gay rights also was lengthy, unnecessary and out of context, All that was a pity, because the piece and tranquillity of the National Park is wonderful, as is the sense of a tangible link with pre-history. Well worth the visit, but take your own guide book.
We did this tour with Graham, what a gentlemen. This is one of the best tours we have been on. It was very interesting to hear the local knowledge and OMG the lunch and morning tea that was supplied. Home cooked food like silverside, beetroot, pickles. We even got to sample smoked kangaroo. Even morning tea was home cooked piklets. We would certainly recommend.
We thank you very much for your review. Very pleased to hear that you enjoyed your day with us. The views are definitely stunning here and we are proud that you gave us the opportunity to show you around.
We certainly got more than expected on this tour. As we wanted to know more about the aboriginal people our guide was certainly open to our questions this gave us a better understanding of the people. His tour was complex and full of everything that had happened in the park. We came away with a good understanding of Mungo and a refreshed approach of aboriginal people. The scenery was spectacular well worth the visit.
Very interesting tour with Graham who is an Aboriginal from the country he guides you through. So he has a lot of things to talk about the landscape and history of that place.A must do if you stay or come through Mildura.
This was one of the best aboriginal tours I have ever taken. Graham was friendly & open he has an outstanding view of the history of how his people had once lived. His future visions for how the land is today is very understandable. Thanks Graham for opening our minds beyond the ordinary we have not stopped talking about it. Tables were set for us like an outback restaurant and a buffet picnic served to us with a variety of meats, salads and bush tucker, you can eat in a restaurant anytime but this was so much more than we expected and no-one does for themselves anymore. We were a group of 6 that will all be joining you on one of your two day tours in the near future. Thanks for everything Graham
