The butterflies are lovely and there are lots and lots of them. The educational section is great, but might not be interesting for young and/or active kids. The Butterfly Place is small, so on a busy weekend, it's crowded and loud. It's also quite warm, which is necessary for the butterflies, but dress accordingly if you don't like being hot. They do offer special rates for home schooled children and senior citizens.
This is amazing place to visit during cold winter days... You would dive into the summer time with many kind of butterflies, parrots and other birds... Chill music will relax you and place in good mood... Place is not too big, so it may happened to be crowdy... It is about 80F inside and about 90% humidity - so be prepared... Take your camera with you!

The name says it all. Lots of other birds also live in with the butterfly's. Lots of flowers and trees make this a great place to just sit on one of the stone benches and take in God's beauty. The people working there are very nice and helpful. Small but a great quality activity for all ages at a very reasonable price. Just make sure you bring your camera/mobile device, etc. I had a Blue Morphoe land on my hand!!!
If you need a dose of Spring after all this snow...please visit this place! Beautiful, friendly staff to answer any questions!!
Hi! Sylvia here from The Butterfly Place. Thank-you for your review. I think that you gave a description that is helpful. It can be busy on week-ends. Week day afternoons tend to be quieter. As far as price, we receive no grants or government subsidies. Our customers are our only support.I'm glad that you visited!
If you can tolerate the humidity and parents who are not mindful all the time ( the latter not always in attendance) but LOVE the beauty of wings aloft and sometimes setting on your shoulder or an extension of it, then the wonder and bliss of this place is food for your soul. The type of butterflies differ from time to time so each visit is a new experience. I go when I want to partake not only in the spectacular array of winged creatures but for reminder of the delicate and gentle life gracing this planet. The butterflies are from many parts of the world so being in this aviary is akin to being in ones own travel film.
The Butterfly Place is small and somewhat rustic but what a splendid experience of butterflies! They play peaceful music (I went to a store afterwards and purchased the CD) and if you sit or stand very still the butterflies will land on you. So many colors and so beautiful! You can feel the air move when they fly past you.Truly a great place to learn about butterflies, to meditate and photograph them. Also, if you live within a certain distance of the attraction, your local library may have passes for you to get in.
Beautiful butterflies but rather expensive - grandchildren (age 7 and 10) enjoyed it very much - 10 year old girl could have lasted well over an hour - seven year old lost attention at 45 minutes. Well kept -- professional to answer questions.
I hosted my daughter's birthday here. They were very friendly and helpful. They supplied us with cups, plates, tablecloths, and a dining area. The staff were wonderful and the cost was very fair. I would definitely use them again.
