A little piece of heaven! The park is well staffed and well cared for. The water is cold and beautiful; a great family swimming spot!!!
Walked in this beautifully manicured park! Great morning! Some crunchy leaves, some sidewalk and gorgeous trees and water!
I went for a walk around the Blue Hole while I was passing through Wimberley. Looks like a nice spot, but there's not much to it. The facilities look nice and new, looks well maintained. The water itself looked very nice to splash around in, but I spent more time wandering through the wooded area at the top. Saw a few deer and squirrels.
Looks like an awesome summertime swimming hole, but we visited during cold weather so we could only imagine the fun.
The Blue Hole is a great place to take your family while visiting Wimberley during the open season. Get there early to avoid crowds and snag a good spot on the lawn or a picnic table. There are a couple of tree swings for the more adventurous types or there is some shallow water for the little ones to enjoy. The water is crystal clear and a very refreshing 70 degrees. The entry fee isn't very much at all and in my opinion worth it.
I have been enjoying the Blue Hole since the 1960 s. We first started coming here from our hometown in Houston, when I was a child. It was incredible then, and now it is world class, TEXAS STYLE. No matter what I can tell you about how it looks, you wont know the full experience until you grab that rope and swing into summer heaven, fresh frigid creek water on a 100+ heatwave-kinda-day (which are most days in the central Texas summer!). I am impressed with the way the park has been assembled from various surrounding parcels, and built up into a park with the best of hiking trails, restrooms, soccer fields, adequate parking, and of course CYPRESS CREEK. And anytime of year, you can meander along the trails to see plenty of grazing deer, so wildlife viewing is also a plus.
Good parking, not an excessive entrance fee, lots of turf grass, lots of shade, cool spring clear water, very relaxing and therapeutic, or,,, swing and drop ropes.
Wished it would have been a time of the year when I could have gone swimming. The area is a place I would like to explore more.
The Blue Hole was easy to find and parking was not far. The water was really nice. It's a perfect place for a family picnic.
Many hiking trails for hiking or jogging, dog friendly too. Went in the winter but would love to go back in summer and swim in the crystal clear water in the swimming area.
