Saw "Hairspray" at Garden Theatre last night…amazingly professional for a small theatre! A fantastic bunch of talent, beautifully directed! Not a boring moment the entire evening…truly as good as some of the Broadway productions I've seen. We saw their production of "33 Variations" a couple of months ago, and it was also wonderfully acted and thoroughly entertaining. The fall opening and spring closing musicals of this theatre have been just wonderful for the past several years…lots of professional talent. A beautiful little historical theatre located in the charming downtown area of Winter Garden…highly recommend!
I have been to the Garden Theater for several plays and movies. Awesome place to go. Love the movies series!
Wonderful cultural space that has contributed greatly to making downtown Winter Garden an fun, exciting place to visit. Quality programming in a diverse range of genre in this beautifully restored movie house leads to interesting community conversations.
Once again Winter Garden has surpised me. My wife and I went to the Garden Theater for a showing of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and what a nice surprise!. First the venue itself was so nicely restored. The seats were padded, very comfortable and not as narrow as alot of theaters. There really isnt a bad seat in the house. Second, the level of ability of the actors was exceptional. Sound levels were well balanced and lighting was very professional. We are already planning our next trip for "33 Variations" and Hairspray! If only one of the better restaurants would stay open for an after performance dinner....... how about it Al Fresco or Chef's Table.......
Wonderful opportunity to view live theater within walking distance of our hotel at a reasonable price. We really enjoyed the show!
I took the family to see our first show at the theatre - hairspray. everyone had a great time! we really enjoyed the smaller theatre as we were so close to the stage. It seems like every seat would a good one. we were able to purchase drinks and snacks before and at the intermission as well and take them to our seats. We will be going to more events in the future. I recommend for all ages based on the show. The kids have already picked out the show they want to see next..
Our group chose this theater for a Sunday afternoon outing. This small theater is affordable, easy to travel to and close to restaurants in downtown Winter Garden. We saw "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" which was hilarious. The theater has an affordable snack stop, has comfortable seats on floor level only and a lot of pleasant staff that showed interest in us as a group. I am looking forward to attending more of their events.
We went as part of their summer movie showcase which featured a host of classic movies such as Citizen Kane, Casablanca and more. While the snacks were limited, the price was fantastic. Located in the heart of Downtown Winter Garden, come early and take a stroll along the trail. Stay late and grab a coffee or ice cream nearby.
I have attended several musical productions with my son at the Garden Theatre, and each time we left having immensely enjoyed our evening. They do a fantastic job with everything: sets, costumes, lights, orchestra, front of house, performances (of course) - everything! We definitely recommend the theatre. Movies are nice, but there's nothing like live stage performances, and when they're done as wonderfully as they are at the beautiful historic Garden Theatre, the time spent with family/friends is priceless!
Sweeney Todd is one of my favs!. I had goose bumps for the last 5 mins of this performance. Music was excellent, seating is comfortable and the town of Winter Garden is great. We attended the last performance on sun afternoon. Dinner at Al Frescos the night before and a bloody mary at Pilar's before the show. Sounds just about perfect? It really was. Next season's schedule looks exeptional.
