The Fort Worth Zoo deserves its reputation as one of the finest zoos in the country. A wide variety of mammals is housed in open enclosures that are designed to mimic the mammals' natural habitats. The paths through most of the zoo are well shaded; walkways are broad with ample wheelchair and stroller access.
Very updated and relevant to today's conservation issues. Many different bird species that are not found at my home zoo.
This zoo is layed out well, with plenty to see for every age of person. Clean, innovative and educational, the people of Fort Worth have supported and made this place a must-see attraction in Cowtown. The monkey exhibit is so awesome- could stay there for days!
This is one of the best zoos in the U.S. We saw so many animals and had an extremely good time. The animals have nice large habitats, and it was the perfect way to spend a warm, sunny day in February.
Our two pre-school grandkiddos had a blast showing us THEIR zoo on a cool Texas morning in January ... They "sponsor" a tiger there, so they've visited several times before. We were impressed with the interesting layout and pretty large enclosures for the animals. Signage was very informative without being boring. Got to pet a snake and watch the Penguins get their lunch! Due to encroaching nap times, we only saw about two thirds of the exhibits in about 2 1/2 hours. We opted for lunch elsewhere but there are decent looking lunch options inside the zoo area. Definitely worth (no pun intended) a day's time!
What a great day to visit the Fort Worth Zoo. The weather was cool, but comfortable (upper 50's). However, that was apparently exactly what the zoo animals needed to be outdoors today. We passed very few exhibits that did not have a sight to see! Loved seeing the newest little Giraffe checking us out and even running a little bit! All in all, a beautiful day, and a wonderful experience!
If ever in Fort Worth with two or three hours to spare this is a must see place. It is nice to have some time to enjoy all of the exhibits at the zoo. It is nicely laid out and the vegetation is spectacular. Some very rare animals on site. Kids would enjoy trying to find the bugs and snakes on the various isolated window exhibits.
The Ft Worth Zoo is a great time for people of all ages. It can be an excellent learning experience or a perfect day of relaxing and enjoying the sights and sounds of all the amazing animals.
This is a great zoo and my daughter loved visiting there when we lived in DFW. During the spring and fall we went at least once a month. Also if you live there it's definitely worth buying the membership. The free parking and admission pay for themselves if you go a few times.
Fort Worth Zoo has THE best exhibits, including the fairly new reptile house! Not to mention the chance to view animals in a natural habitat very similar to their own. The primates can be quite entertaining and the big cats are always a favorite of mine!
