As all other reviews say, its a must watch show at bagore ki haveli or I wud say trip to udaipur is incomplete without this. Thankyou for giving the desi tadka to my trip to the place. You present exactly what one looks for while visiting rajasthan.
This is a dance show held in the open air courtyard at the Bagore Ki Haveli, showing a number of traditional Rajasthani dances, and a short puppet show (showing the puppeteer, which is unusual, but fascinating, as he is so skilful). Really recommend it.
A great idea spoiled by lackluster approach and ordinary performances. lots of improvement needed. Professionally trained performers should be hired .......Still not to be missed.
If you are in Udaipur this is something you should not miss. I visited Bagore ki Haveli to watch the show. Sad that we couldn't spare time to visit the haveli however we enjoyed the show. The dance performance by the artists is amazing. The entire show is entertaining especially (The Puppet) and Jaya mam -68 years old and dancing like a 16 (please correct me if I got the wrong name) and Anarkali. Although I would like to quote that the entire Dharohar team - The dancers as well as the singers give in their 100% while performing and they enjoy while performing which is the best part. Please do buy the ticket for camera because once you are there you cannot resist clicking pics.Simply Awesome!
My sister had come from US so we planned a family trip to Udaipur this January. Must say hadn't we gone to watch Dharohar at Bagore ki Haveli our Udaipur trip would have been incomplete. It's awesome. Artists put their 100% in performances. My recommendation to Rajasthan Tourism they should promote it more.
We went there as it was recommended to us by our guide and we did enjoy this show. I'm not going to go into details, what this thing is all about, after all traditional folk dance and music is quite understandable thing. Place was full of people, so in order to get best seat, arrive early and be ready to be seated on a bare floor for an hour or so.
The show is in a courtyard in the bagore ki haveli.. which is near to gangaur ghat. The artists are great and the shoe is worth every penny. We watched it twice. The folk music is truly mesmerizing. The lady in the end of the show. .. She is completely a rock star. Loved the place. . Loved the show. . Would love to come back and watch again.
Went there after reading reviews on ta, very entertaining 1 hour show at bagore ki haveli, entry fee was just rs 60. Multiple folk dances, puppet show and the last performance was all worth a visit.
We visited this cultural performance at the behest of our driver. We went there with limited expectations. The show starts at 7.00 (lasts about 1 hour) and the queue for the tickets was in place well before 6:45PM. The tickets were cheap - at Rs 60 per head and Rs 100 for use of the camera. When we saw the pricing, this lowered our expectations. The performances started about 10 minutes late with an introduction to Rajasthani culture. We were simply blown away by the performances by artistes who were professionally trained. We must admit thatthis was one of the highlights of our trip to Rajasthan. We highly recommend that one goes to this performance if you are in Udaipur.
