We visited 10+ museums during our road trip and this was the only one we thought was overpriced. It was interesting but at $10 each it wasn't as good as the one in town which was free - be aware!
Wonderful self guided tour of the Frontier days to present. Fine art work in various forms. Changing displays of museum quality. Helpful and friendly guides. It is especially great when combined with the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. If attending Rodeo, book early for lodging or campgrounds.
We stopped in here when we were in the area for a day. We enjoyed looking at the vehicles and reading all the displays. Lots of interesting information! Easy to spend 2 hours looking around! Don't forget to check out the statues outside and read about them too!
*brilliant exhibits including sculptures*kept in clean spacious areas*very lifless atmosphere, could be made so much more informative with photographs, interactive features etc showing the exhibits in their true living glory-essential for younger visitors with limited knowledge of history*we used the trolley service and were left there for 90 minutes which proved to be at least 30 minutes too long*a coffee shop would have been more than appreciated*next to the frontier days stadium
Went to the Cheyenne Frontier Days for the first time and loved it all. The museum was very interesting with all of the history of the west. Take time to really go through and see all that is there and watch the movie. Very nicely done.
went through the museum at the end of our trip to the rodeo and it was a great tribute to all residents of the area
My husband and I called in and spent 2 1/2 hours visiting. Marsha at the front desk was really informative about the museum exhibits and also gave us plenty of knowledge for visiting the local area. The hospitality shown by all the staff was very welcoming. Enjoyed the DVD presentation, Must admit went away feeling a bit sad about the rodeo rider Lane..that lost his life so young, he had a gorgeous smile that will no doubt be remembered for always in this small community. The horse drawn carriage display was also very good. The children's area for play has been well thought out. Well done!
We visited the museum after attending the rodeo(which was awesome). The museum was very nice and affordable. Will go back in the future.
I'm a city slicker so parts of the museum was lost on me, but what I did like were the old videos about cowboys and cowgirls. There are many artifacts and relics from the Old West and a large hall with all sorts of carriages, wagons, and buggies. For those who are fans of the rodeo, this is a must-see.
ITs an amazing experience and lots of fun! But at the years go by you almost need to take a loan out to be able to afford any of the food or stuff. Plus they keep removing and downgrading the carnival which sucks.
