We were most impressed with the childhood home of Graham. It had been disassembled and numbered (each wooden floor slat, and every other piece) then reassembled the same exact way--impressive. The volunteers were knowledgeable and kind. Everything was set up very nicely, lots of workers to help you out.
We're so glad you enjoyed your time at Christmas at the Library! Thanks so much for taking the time to share about your experience. We hope you have the opportunity to come again. God bless!
I strongly suggest visiting this beautiful library and grounds during Christmas time. It was such a blessing! I would get there around 3pm -do the tour first so you can take your time, then about 5-5:30pm it starts to get dark and you can do the horse carriage rides and the beautiful lights are on. Make sure you visit the dairy bar and bookstore. The homeplace house is open to walk thru. Take your camera.

We're glad you found your visit educational and enjoyable! Thanks so much for sharing. God bless, and we hope to see you again!
It isn't a library! It's an interactive museum telling the story off the BG ministry. First 30mins is structured - room at a time with video, audio guide and themed interiors (like a mission tent and radio studio) Did a great job of making this interesting and it is moving no matter what faith you are. So glad I went.
I am not a fan or a follower of Billy Graham, however, because it is so highly rated, and free (by optional donation) we decided to check it out.The tour is very well laid out, and frankly, one of the better thought out semi-self guided tours I've experienced around the world. Certainly, the enormous budget production values that you experience at each exhibit greatly add to the overall experience.Beautiful use of lighting, technology and story telling help to make this experience meaningful, even as a non-follower. The tour tells the story of Billy Graham and his ministry. While there is some religious messaging, I never felt uncomfortable or pressured (though you do have to keep an open mind, and know that they are truly not there to recruit, however, the library is certainly a way to continue the ministry and community that Billy Graham has already created). You can easily spend several hours looking at the exhibits and memorabilia found inside. I will return on a future trip to check out the childhood home and memorial gardens.Overall, a nice surprise and good experience for a few hours while in the Charlotte area.
Be sure to allow more time than suggested (which was only an hour and a half). We spent 4 hours and still plan to go back next time we are in Charlotte. Parking is plentiful. How all of this is financed only by donations (no charge to enter) is amazing. The displays were well-spaced, extremely interesting and educational. I've grown up hearing/reading/listening to Billy Graham, but there was a wealth of information that was unknown to me. Easily one of the top attractions in the area, and not just for tourists. Hope the locals take advantage of it!.
