My husband and I love to use this trail for our bike rides. Beautiful ride along side the Arkansas River any time of year. We almost always see deer , squirrels and other wildlife. The trail makes a 13 mile loop from downtown Little Rock over the Big Dam Bridge back down to downtown North Little Rock.
This trail is great for those of you who like to run, walk, or cycle your way to fitness. It's an excellent ride for us "roaddies" too.
NIce walk, relaxing, Helps to get rid of the tension of the day. What else can one say? enjoyable and not too long
17 miles of trail for both nature and art lovers and anyone who wants a lovely walk along the river.
Ride along the river, great views and even has stations for bike repairs if needed. Travel over bridges and has spots for a picnic lunch.
Ive been down the river trail several times, mostly on the south side. It's a really great place to get some exercise with a scenic backdrop. The south side runs through the suburbs and city down to the Clinton Presidential Library and the north side runs mostly through woods and against old quarry walls. Both sides are on the lake at different points, but the north side is much more scenic. The loop between the Big Dam Bridge and the Clinton Library is about 15 miles. All the pedestrian bridges light up at night!
It's a beautiful area with cute shops, but be aware that it's pricy, and can be very noisy in the evenings. Lots of cute bars and eateries
We were visiting friends in LR and were excited when we saw this trail along the Arkansas River....we started our bike ride at the north end (near the I40 parking lot/boat ramp) and enjoyed a nice 5 miles along the river and golf course....but then...the trail joins high volume roads, and had no bike lane as you approach downtown....so we turned around and rode back....never making it to downtown....to bad....the north end of this trail is awesome for riding.
This one of the best things in Little Rock. We are really proud of our trail systems and the Big Dam Bridge. It is a beautiful walk beside the river. Lots of people out walking, running, biking, skating. A fun place to be.
I ran 26.2 miles along the river for the 3 bridges marathon. It was so beautiful in December. I imagine it's even more beautiful in the fall.
