A massive 'Scottish Baronial' construction in the middle of India!Interesting despite its new role as an educational establishment...short conducted tour. Would love to see the (apparently spectacular) cellars - and the upper floor(s).
There's a guys who gives a trip to the interiors of it but didn't find that of much help .... but pretty educational and a simply wow place !!

This attraction is well worth a visit for its exterior and its place in history, both British and Indian. Visits are timed and overlarge but the large galleried entrance hall where you exit is impressive.
Nice place to visit if you are interested in the historical signifances of the place. One time visit for sure if you are in shimla, you will definetely get to see something unique. Also the whole environment surrounding is very good for gettin some cool snaps.and you can also get a good view of shimla as this attraction is located on top of the hill.
This is a very inpressive building built out of sandstone and granite high on a hill. It looks like a Scottish Castle and was the summer retreat for the British to escape the Delhi summers. Beautiful gardens and amazing entrance hall.
Its quite impressive to think that the Vice Regal of India could rule over such a population in the peace and tranquillity of Shimla , with the amazing logistics of moving his entire Government twice a year to and from this remote spot
