Landa Falls is probably the best access to the Comal River in New Braunfels. It is the longest ride, the facility comes with free parking (no trying to search some side street for a place to park), you can use your own tubes or they have some for you to rent. By far the easiest way to go if you want to float the Comal!
We rented here for our Comal river float. The people were nice! They had yellow tubes without bottoms and black ones with plastic bottoms for coolers and protection from the rocky bottom.
For $15 bucks you get access to the Comal river, a tube to float in, and a ride back to your car when your done. It was worth every penny. Due to the drought conditions the river runs slow and since Landa Falls is the longest float on the river, be sure to bring a couple of twelve packs for the ride.
It was my first ever tubing trip. A great start off point. The people at the tube place were helpful. You get to start your tubing at the farthest point upstream. The pickup was quick and fast at exit point and the bus had A/C..
Landa falls is awesome. Provided the longest float on the comal. Easy parking. Allows your own tubes and just pay for shuttles as well. Shuttles are air conditioned!
Parking on site, excellent customer service, the best we have ever had on our trips down the Comal. Only thing they didn't provide was a mesh trash bag.Two hints for those who have never been:1. The river was very low and slow during our visit, had to paddle a lot! Take the time to pull out and re-apply sunscreen (we didn't, big mistake!)2. When going thru the tube shoots, secure any drinks inside your cooler. We didn't expect the shoot to be as rough as it was and had our drinks sitting in the tube and lost two cans. Felt so bad about the accidental littering I purposely picked up litter I found for the rest of the trip.
We pass the falls all the time but since you have to pay to even see the falls, we can't really give a good review of them as we don't think a person should have to pay for just going there.
We started our tubing the Comal River at Landa Falls. You had to rent the tubes there so was the most peaceful part of our float. The farther down where you could get in with your own tubes was crowed. The slide was fun and not as scary as I thought it was going to be. Pick up and back the car was fast. This place has it all figured out and the day went smoothly from start to finish. Will do it again and from this place.
When I first moved here, I was told that this was the place to rent a tube. Very true. Great service, fair prices, and great delivery back to our cars. The easy going ride on the Comal is great during the week in summer. The holidays? well, it depends on your taste. I don't like bumper to bumper tube talkin' traffic, so I stay away from those days. Great crew, come and enjoy.
I loved that this location was easy to get in and out of and that the shuttle picked you up to take you back to your vehicle, but will warn that if you have small childern the exiting the river and walking to meet the shuttle is difficult becuase by the time you make it down the river the little ones are tired, your tired and you still have to carry their tube as well as yours while holding on to them as you cross the street of a road that is not the safest. that would be my only con to this company, but only one comanpy that is significantly more expensive would avoid this.
