One of Wyland's great contributions throughout the world! I love how New London has taken the effort to keep the mural in good condition.
Et fint kunstværk på det lille torv - halen af en hval der er ved at dykke! Rundt omkring på torvet hang der de fineste blomsterkurve og skabte hygge.
This is #41 of the 100 life-sized murals painted by marine wildlife artist Wyland in cities around the world. The first time I saw it, I just thought that it fit well into the landscape of public art in downtown New London, the Whaling City. It wasn’t until a later visit that I realized that it was also part of a larger series of murals worldwide. Some have already been painted over or otherwise destroyed. The one in New London has been cared for and is in good condition. This one depicts several sperm whales. It is certainly worth a quick drive or walk by if you are in the downtown area, and should not be missed if you are someone who already appreciates the artist’s work.
I've loved looking at this piece of art ever since I was a kid. Everytime I'm visiting New London and pass it, it makes me smile. Hoping this piece of art never goes away.
I drive by this every time I am in New London and it brings a smile to my face very time.A beautiful piece of artwork!
Drive by this art all the time...it is a really nice piece of art of marine life. It is a big piece for NL.
